For this group assignment we had to make a script of us playing parts in a restaurant, we had to use vocab from unit six which were learning at that time. If I notice that my group is struggling, that’s a sign that my group needs help and we can get support by asking the peer tutor or Mr. Vukic for help so our understanding is better. If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to discuss the issue until it is resolved. In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by making sure I understand the topic and asking questions when i’m not sure about something.
In this lab we had to collaborate to observe the behaviour of acid, base and a neutral solution and classify six unknown and six known solutions as an acid, base or neutral solution. Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in when predicting with my lab partner what colour would appear in the reaction, and describing what colour is actually turned, and also using communication to examine the solutions and predict whether is was an acid, base or neutral solution. I make an effort to include missing voices/ perspectives by Making sure my partner had an opinion on what they thought the solution/substance was and made sure we came to a agreement on what colour it was as well. I can work with others to achieve a goal and finish tasks.
I demonstrated communication by asking for help when i needed it. I was having trouble with a type of stitch that i needed to learn to make my ornament look more appealing. I made sure to ask for help, it took me a while to understand how to do the stitch but I didn’t give up and eventually got it. Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in asking for help when needed. My ornament turned out well in the end and i’m glad i used communication until I understood how to do the stitch properly.
I can ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener. An example would be when we did the origami box tutorial. I made sure to listen closely so my box would turn out right and I didn’t do anything wrong. One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to always make sure they aren’t confused on what we are doing in class. An example would be if I saw them struggling with the paper box I made sure to ask if they needed any help and to always help if I can. My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include making sure to watch the tutorial multiple times so I understand how to do it properly. I also made a demo box so I made sure I could make it properly. In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by answering and asking questions whenever my peers or I am confused.
In a safe and supported environment, I respond meaningfully to communication from peers and adults.

For this assignment we learned about the Canadian coat of arms. We had to discuss with our table group members what we think the Coat of arms should add and what is good on it. I respected everyone’s opinions on it and shared my own as well. I respected the feedback I got on my own opinion. I also like to get feedback on my assignments and respond meaningfully.
Something that went well for me this school year was foods class. I enjoyed cooking different types of foods and learning how to properly cook. It was fun learning about food as well. It went well because i cooked everything properly and asked questions to improve.

My grade 9 experience was very fun and went by very fast. Some words that describe my grade 9 year are challenging, fun, memorable, and busy. This is my favourite website because it made siting things a lot easier. It was very helpful when I did projects and other assignments that needed siting. It made siting websites alot faster then doing it on my own which would take a long time.
I chose this for my favourite video because I watched it in my English class. We did an assignment on finding nemo explaining what the beginning is, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. We also learned about different types of irony and conflicts. Also different types of characters like static, dynamic, flat, and rounds characters.

El Salvador’s main sport is soccer, what they call football. Canadas main sports are lacrosse and hockey. Some traditions in El salvador are festivals and parades they also play sports and eat traditional foods on special occasions. Canada there is also days were you celebrate and eat food and play sports. There are also parades on days such as Canada day. Both Canada and El Salvador and three strips on there flags, except with different colours.Canada has a constitutional monarchy while El Salvador has a Democratic Republic. El Salvador has a lot of mountains and so does bc, Canada. I think visiting this country would be fun but I would prefer others options. El Salvador isn’t a top pick for somewhere i would want to go for vacation because it doesn’t look as fun as Mexico etc.

I can form new ideas to create new things by thinking out of the box and being creative. I can also build on the ideas of others by putting everyone’s ideas and opinions into one that we can all agree on. I would ask my partner what her thoughts were on how the poster would look.
I take on roles and responsibilities in a group; I do my share by making sure i give my opinions on something were discussing, and put work and effort into group projects. An example would be how much effort i put into our poster for our country project.

It was also very easy to tell what the setting was in the book because there is a movie version. I think the setting of the story is significant because it helps you get a better image of the book in your mind.

The word mood means the atmosphere surrounding what your book is about. the Harry Potter book are all have a mysterious and suspenseful feel so I picked a sound that I thought was mysterious.

I don’t have a high tolerance for risk, so I took the safe option that would still get me to my goal. The three year GIC gives me a safe guaranteed return that is higher that the one year. I didn’t pick stocks because stocks change a lot so they could go up or down and I don’t want to lose money. I couldn’t invest in another thing in the last year so I put it into savings.

Working with my group was a little but distracting because I had a few friends in my group. I contributed to my group by sharing my ideas of the topic I chose which was GIC. I would rate my ability to work with the people in my group a 2/4 because it was a little bit distracting because I had friends in my group, that I didn’t focus well with.
