Reflecting on My First Year

My Grade 9 Year

My grade 9 experience was very fun and went by very fast. Some words that describe my grade 9 year are challenging, fun, memorable, and busy. Some things that I enjoyed this year were making more friends and lots of fun memories. This year I learned that high school is a big stretch from middle school.

My Favorite Website

This is my favourite website because it made siting things a lot easier. It was very helpful when I did projects and other assignments that needed siting. It made siting websites alot faster then doing it on my own which would take a long time.

Favourite Video

I chose this for my favourite video because I watched it in my English class. We did an assignment on finding nemo explaining what the beginning is, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. We also learned about different types of irony and conflicts. Also different types of characters like static, dynamic, flat, and rounds characters.

My Favourite Image

This is my favourite image this school year because it reminded me of the memorable time I had in foods class. I enjoyed cooking different types of food with my friends and learning how to measure properly.

I chose this quote because you should never be nervous to try new things. You should always be open to trying or doing new things to discover if you will enjoy them or not.

Plot, Character, Setting and Mood

Explain how you figured out what your Avatar would look like.

It was easy for my to know what my character looked like because there is a movie of the book and a picture of the character on the cover of the book.

How did you choose the plot points? 

By figuring out the most important things that happened in what I read so far and explains them in detail.

Explain how you figured out the setting in your story. Why is the setting significant to the story?  

It was also very easy to tell what the setting was in the book because there is a movie version. I think the setting of the story is significant because it helps you get a better image of the book in your mind.

Explain what the word mood means and how/why you picked the song that you picked?

The word mood means the atmosphere surrounding what your book is about. the Harry Potter book are all have a mysterious and suspenseful feel so I picked a sound that I thought was mysterious.

An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is when I ask for others ideas or thoughts on what I could do to make my work better.

In discussions and conversations, i help to build and extend understanding by asking questions whenever i’m stuck or confused.
