I don’t have a high tolerance for risk, so I took the safe option that would still get me to my goal. The three year GIC gives me a safe guaranteed return that is higher that the one year. I didn’t pick stocks because stocks change a lot so they could go up or down and I don’t want to lose money. I couldn’t invest in another thing in the last year so I put it into savings.

I can work with others so achieve a goal. I make an effort to include missing voices/ perspectives by making sure to hear everyone in the groups opinions. I can analyze evidence to make judgements. In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend my understanding by making sure to ask questions to make sure I understand.

 Working with my group was a little but distracting because I had a few friends in my group. I contributed to my group by sharing my ideas of the topic I chose which was GIC. I would rate my ability to work with the people in my group a 2/4 because it was a little bit distracting because I had friends in my group, that I didn’t focus well with.

Flaming Ion Lab

Core Competency Reflection

I enjoyed this science lab the most because I hadn’t done anything like it before and it was a new and cool experience. I liked seeing the different colours form with the different elements. One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose in this lab is to make sure they understand what there doing and not confused or struggling. My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include using my communication skills to talk with group members and asking for help to make sure im on the right track.

Omelet

This was my favourite recipe because it was flavourful and fun to make. I liked learning different ways to chop veggies in this recipe.

Making and Sharing Reflection

Step by step plan for productions:

  • Dice and slice the vegetables you choosed
  • Sauté the veggies over medium heat
  • Grate cheese 
  • Crack an egg into a small bowl and beat/whisk it 
  • Coat new pan with butter 
  • Pour in egg mixture
  • Once egg is cooked turn off the heat and  spoon in your veggies 
  • Add cheese on top 
  • Lift one side of the egg over the veggies
  • Cook for one more minute and season
  • Done!

I am successful when working on my own but I think it is great to use communication and talk to peers when struggling with a recipe. I have the ability to talk to my peers when struggling. If i‘m struggling when working individually I try my best to use critical thinking to solve what i’m struggling with.

While working in the kitchen, I help to build and extend my understanding by asking questions and using critical thinking.

If there is a disagreement within the group, i find it helpful to know everyone options and try to compromise.

I know the group is working well together when I hear/ see them conjoining there thoughts and ideas.
