Reflecting on My First Year

My Grade 9 Year:

My grade 9 year was better than most of my other school years. coming into a new school was very nerve racking. my strength from this year was paying more attention and not zoning out. last year i zoned out a lot but this year i tried harder and stayed focus. this year i enjoyed the freedom. i liked how we can go anywhere at lunch and i like how we have 4 classes each semester. i also felt that i had more support with my work. i could go to any teacher and they could help me with what im working on.

My Favourite Website:

https://www.netflix.com/browse

Netflix is my favourite website because it helps me calm down my stress levels before tests. i watch all my favourite shows on Netflix. it helps me focus while i do my school work. i put on a show and do my work because i like to work in an environment that isnt quite.

My Favourite Video:

this is my favourite video because in spanish in the 1st semester, we watched this movie before christmas break. we watch it in spanish with english subtitles. i really enjoyed this christmas movie and learning the new language.

My Favourite Image:

i chose this as my favourite photo because this is where most of my memories are from this school year. i played on the school JR. soccer team and the schools girls lacrosse team. i also watched all football games here. this is where i met my close friends now.

My Favourite Quote:

my favourite quote is “you miss 100% of shots you don’t take” – Wayne Gretzky

this is my favourite quote because it relates to sports and i am a very athletic person, sports are what i love. it also is my favourite because without this quote i would not have been successful in my school work and my comfort level. it has brought me to look upon the standards and try new things.

Persuasion and Advertisement Technique

Persuasion and Advertisement Unit Reflection

Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement?

it is important to remember who benefits from this ad because they will get the money and you dont know if its a real company or not.

· Choose one form of persuasion and explain why it is effective in persuading you/an audience: logical, ethical, emotional on an audience

ethical- ethical is helpful when persuading someone because the public will listen to someone with authority. they will also because they want to be like that famous person so they will buy more of you product

· Choose an advertising technique and explain why it is effective in selling a product.

eye appeal- this is effective because the colours and text are big, bright, and bold. it is very attractive and appealing to the human eye.

Core Competency Reflection

An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is when camryn and i were helping eachother chose our slogans. even though we were in different groups we still helped eachother complete this assignment.

One strategy or activity that stimulated my imagination on this project was when i came up with my product. my product is supposed to help each tribute win the hunger games and stay alive.

I showed that I valued feedback from others in my class by putting it into my project. i used camryns advice and applied it to my project. she also helped me chose what my product was going to do.

ADL- math assignment

calculations and solutions:

for my solution in am using a 3 year GIC and doing the savings on its own.

YEAR 1 GIC- 80000*1.042= 83,360 option A 1 year GIC 3.5%

YEAR 2 GIC- 83,360*1.042= 86,861.12 year1- 80,000*1.035= 82,80o

YEAR 3 GIC- 86,861.12*1.042= 90,509.287 year2- 82,800*1.035= 85698

year3- 85698*1.035= 88697.43

years  3 Year GIC saving total total
 Year 0 80,000
 Year 1 83,360.00 10000 10,000 93,360
 year 2  86,861.12 20000 20350 107,211
 year 3  90,509.29 30000 31,062 121,572

justification:

i didn’t chose option A because you would not have enough money to complete your goal of 120,000 dollars. you would be 10,241 dollars short. i also didn’t chose stalks because stocks could go up and down and you wouldn’t know if you could get to your target goal. i chose option B because, you would have enough to reach your goal of 120,000 yet still have money left over.

collaberation:

in the days that we worked in groups i worked with Brooke, Roya, and Teya. i liked working with these people because they are people that have the same interests as me and people that i can work well with. we can use all our strengths to complete all the questions. i contributed to the group by helping calculate the equations and helping find how to calculate each equations. my other group mates contributated by calculating the different equations and by thinking together to get all our work done and completed properly. we used some of my business notes to try and complete each question because i had numbers and how to find the products of each math sentance.

Core Competency:

  1. i represented my communication by sharing my ideas and thoughts with my group. we all worked together to try and complete each question. what i would work on next time is asking the teacher for help and paying attention more so i know how to complete everything.
  2. for next time i would try to understand it more, like how to calculate each GIC and stock. i also would spend more time in writing everything out. with my group we all found how to calculate interest rates together with each of our skills.
  3. i made decionions based on how i dont like risk and how i would like to be safe. i chose option B. i used my class time wisely and i got my math work done in class. i asked for help from my peers and my teachers, and got it.
  4. i understood how to complete this project once someone explained it more. i could use my background knowlage to complete this this project from business.

creating a positive and safe digital footprint

word art

paragraph

staying safe on the internet is very important, so many things can happen in a second. Safety online is very important many things could go wrong. On social media platforms people can cyberbully you and yet they wont say it to your face. You should check all your privacy settings and make them private. when you apply for jobs, 50% of employers look for your footprint online to see if you are responsible and many more good qualities. once they see something they might not want to see and you might not want them to see you may not get the job. when people are unsafe online and revel to much about yourself you could be cyberbullied, identity theft, and invasion of privacy. people can be safe on the internet by making all your accounts private and think before you post. Make sure that when you post things you are a where that officals and people important may see them and if they are bad or targeted towards people it may come back to haunt you.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection

I think my experiences as a digital citizen, such as this project influenced how im going to make online a better place and how i am going to make my digital footprint positive. i can watch what i put online and i can think about if it s going to cause trouble with others then i wont post. some ways i work to build a strong relationship with people online is not being mean and making fun of others and i can make people feel good about themselves. by making people feel good online i can make a positive impact on my classmates. my classmates will come to school with a more positive attitude.
