I am able to analyze and explore certain concepts using math tools. With my partner, we made a clinometer and used it to figure out the height of the library’s back wall. It is 8.5m high.
Collaborating
With my partner, we both worked together to make our clinometer and calculate the height of the wall.
I stayed mostly focused during the lab, and handled chemicals as safely as possible when using them.
Explanation (Personal Awareness and Responsibility)
The photo’s connection to the core competency is shown by the photo itself, and it shows that me and my partner stayed focused during the lab, knew what we were supposed to do, worked hard and well together, and completed the lab. Some skills I gained are reading instructions correctly, and staying focused.
In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by paying attention and providing ideas
My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include paying attention, reading instructions, and using my class time well for this assignment.
Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in my work; I paid attention to instructions and stayed focused on this assignment.
Goal: I’d like to get better at communicating, such as asking for help when I need it.
· Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement?
Even though you may be buying something that’s two for the price of one, the company that is selling the product is benefitting from that.
· Choose one form of persuasion and explain why it is effective in persuading you/an audience: logical, ethical, emotional on an audience
Saying something like “Oh, the people of Iceland say this water is delicious so you should buy it” can persuade people to buy that product, proving the fact that they’ll believe whatever that person/those people say.
· Choose an advertising technique and explain why it is effective in selling a product.
Persuasion is effective in selling a product because some people don’t believe something unless a specific person tells them the same thing.

· I sought, developed and weighed options as demonstrated by..
Using true statements and facts to persuade people.

Risks- A safe and secure investment with very little risk. You don’t have to worry about losing your money because it is guaranteed. This suits me well because I am not the kind of person who likes to take risks with a lot of money.
Strengths- GICs are one of the safest investment options for Canadians because returns are guaranteed.
Weaknesses- You’ll need to tie up your money for the entire term if you want to get the full return
Collaboration and Contributions
My group was quiet, but working with them was good
I contributed to the group by researching what a GIC is. The other people in my group didn’t contribute to my learning much, but they were being helpful at times.
No, because my group did not give much info.

I can ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener.
I can work with others to achieve a goal.
I can identify and describe my qualities.
I can take pride in my work and myself.
I sometimes ask questions when I’m stuck, and I am a supportive listener. I worked with Mr. Ruditsch, and he helped me find the formula to this equation. I was able to identify the answer to this math problem, and I took pride in my work and myself.
