Reflecting On My First Year

My Grade 9 Year

This year I enjoyed English because it’s a relatively easy class, and I had a good teacher.

I’m most proud of getting a ‘B’ in PE because it’s the highest mark I’ve ever gotten in any of my classes.

My Favorite Website

Favorite Video

I picked this video because I think it’s funny how the girl just shoves the boy like it’s nothing

Favorite Image

I chose this picture because it’s of my adorable dog Peanut, and I gave her a mini glow up

Favorite Quote

“You never fail until you stop trying” – Albert Einstein

I chose this quote because often when I’m doing a difficult assignment I’ll eventually stop trying or lose motivation

Advertisement Persuasion Project

My Advertisement

Persuasion and Advertisement Techniques

Persuasion and Advertisement Unit Reflection

· Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement?

Even though you may be buying something that’s two for the price of one, the company that is selling the product is benefitting from that.

· Choose one form of persuasion and explain why it is effective in persuading you/an audience: logical, ethical, emotional on an audience

Saying something like “Oh, the people of Iceland say this water is delicious so you should buy it” can persuade people to buy that product, proving the fact that they’ll believe whatever that person/those people say.

· Choose an advertising technique and explain why it is effective in selling a product.

Persuasion is effective in selling a product because some people don’t believe something unless a specific person tells them the same thing.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection

Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include…

  • Not showing my face online in order to keep myself from being phished.
  • Not posting my personal information online (my address, my country, etc.)

Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are…

  • Keeping the information I tell my online friends limited, and not telling them where I live.
  • Giving myself a fake name and not telling people my real name online

I think my experiences as a digital citizen, such as…. influenced my choice of course/hobbies/ teams because…

  • I like 3D animations, and I got to make one in Drafting Design and Animation.
  • I like to draw as a hobby, but I don’t often do it anymore because I’m always busy.

ADL- Collaboration and Solutions for Financial Literacy

Data And Solutions

Year 1=80000 x 1.042 = 83,360

year 2=year 1 x 1.042 = 86,861

year 3 = year 2 x 1.042 = 90,509

Savings= 10,000+10,000+10,000=30,000

Total= 30,000+90,509=120,509

Justification

Risks- A safe and secure investment with very little risk. You don’t have to worry about losing your money because it is guaranteed. This suits me well because I am not the kind of person who likes to take risks with a lot of money.

Strengths- GICs are one of the safest investment options for Canadians because returns are guaranteed.

Weaknesses- You’ll need to tie up your money for the entire term if you want to get the full return

Collaboration and Contributions

  1. My group was quiet, but working with them was good
  2. I contributed to the group by researching what a GIC is. The other people in my group didn’t contribute to my learning much, but they were being helpful at times.
  3. No, because my group did not give much info.
  4. 2

Core Competency Reflection

  • I can ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener.
  • I can work with others to achieve a goal.
  • I can identify and describe my qualities.
  • I can take pride in my work and myself.

I sometimes ask questions when I’m stuck, and I am a supportive listener. I worked with Mr. Ruditsch, and he helped me find the formula to this equation. I was able to identify the answer to this math problem, and I took pride in my work and myself.
