My progress throughout this course
At the beginning of this unit, I barely knew any French, my sentences didn’t make sense and I knew minimal vocabulary. The course has ended and I can now form sentences and have conversations in French. I’m surprised about how much I have learned and improved, I never thought I would be where I am now. Something I am still finding challenging is learning all the small grammar rules that we don’t have in English, if I continue to work on it I know I can understand them fully. I am proud of my family tree project which required me to describe my family using French words and talk about their relation to me. This project allowed me to have more detailed conversations with the new vocabulary I learned from it. I enjoyed making the project and I would do it again. My descriptions were detailed and my pronunciation was great which allowed me to receive a high mark for all my work. If I were to do this project again I would probably add more of a creative element to it, I presented it as a PowerPoint but if I did a poster it would be more interesting to look at. An example of something I have spent a lot of time learning about is how to describe each person and find the word for it in French. After acquiring all the information I presented it to my classmates. I use evidence to make judgements or decisions as demonstrated in this project because while creating my presentation I read over it many times and practiced saying it aloud to see if there were things I should change. I asked others for feedback on how to improve and I read over others’ projects to see if I wanted to add anything that sounded good. Going through this process allowed me to have a more detailed/interesting presentation. Overall I am impressed with how much I have learned throughout this course and I am more confident with speaking French.
