During our Chemistry 11 titration lab, I demonstrated critical and reflective thinking by carefully analyzing the results and identifying sources of error. My artifact is the lab report I completed after the experiment, where I calculated the concentration of an unknown NaOH solution using a standard HCl solution. I showed thinking skills by applying the molarity formula correctly, double-checking my data, and making sure my work was accurate. After the experiment, I reflected on how I could improve next time—for example, I realized that a small delay in noticing the endpoint could affect the volume reading, so I wrote down that I would use a more consistent swirling technique and observe more closely in the future. This shows how I used scientific thinking to solve a problem and then thought about ways to do better. I also worked with a partner and we shared ideas and responsibilities, which helped me become more aware of how teamwork and communication play a role in learning. Overall, this lab helped me grow as a learner by combining thinking, reflecting, and collaborating.

In this class, I found reading Romeo and Juliet to be a deeply rewarding experience. It was the first time I had encountered a book written in this unique style of language, and it felt like a significant milestone in my journey as a reader. At first, the Elizabethan English posed a challenge, but as I progressed, I began to appreciate the beauty and intricacy of Shakespeare’s words. The poetic structure, vivid imagery, and profound themes offered a new perspective on storytelling, making it both intellectually stimulating and emotionally enriching.
This experience not only expanded my understanding of literature but also built my confidence in tackling complex texts. It taught me the value of patience and close reading, skills that I know will benefit me in future academic and personal pursuits. Above all, Romeo and Juliet opened my eyes to the timeless relevance of Shakespeare’s work, sparking a newfound interest in classic literature that I hope to explore further.
