Communication:
In my Anatomy and Physiology 12 class, I showed my communication skills during the class charter lab. We teamed up to perform experiment B with a classmate and shared our results with other students in our group. Working together, we talked through the experiment process, discussing how water diffused and crossed the cell membrane. We also figured out what evidence was crucial to note. I made sure to listen to my partner’s suggestions and shared my thoughts. Whenever we faced questions, we paused to exchange ideas. If we couldn’t resolve them, we’d ask other students or the teacher for help, like when our dialysis tube didn’t swell after adding water. This activity taught me how to actively listen and contribute in a group setting. I learned that confidence is key to expressing my ideas effectively to an audience. Understanding my audience’s perspective and sharing information was essential. My group partner supported and encouraged me to speak up, and I learned a lot from them. For next time, I aim to speak more fluently and use more precise words!

Critical/Reflective Thinking:
At the end of this activity, we had to describe the evidence for each molecule’s diffusion and write a conclusion using the conclusion writing guide for both parts A and B. While trying to figure out what happened in this experiment and analyzing the evidence to decide which molecule could pass through the cell membrane, I had a different viewpoint from my friend. We needed more evidence to support our thoughts and come to a conclusion. This activity taught me how to investigate topics and consider different problem-solving strategies. For next time, I think I should be more careful and try to see problems from others’ perspectives.
