An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is when Sylvia had the idea to add dominos to the rube goldberg machine, it not only added more transfers to the machine but also made the machine more consistent in catching the rat. When faced with ambiguity or setbacks, I tried similar, but different ways to advance the development of my ideas. An example of where I took a significant risk in my thinking or the expected process was when we decided to keep the “rat catcher’ suspended in the air, and the only thing keeping it from falling was a single domino that was taped to the string of the container. I seek, develop and weigh options as demonstrated by the trial and error Sylvia and I went through to create our final product, at first we had decided to create some sort of wind-up car launcher, but later decided on just dropping the car onto the flipper.
