Positive Social Media posts

Reflection
When posting on social media it is important to be aware of the risks that come with it. If you post something that paints you in an unsavoury light such as you committing a crime or being racist, potential employers or college administrators can see that and reject you based on it. You’re friends and family can also see what you post on social media and they might choose to not associate with you if you post something bad on social media. There are however, benefits to posting on social media. Colleges and employers like to see that their applicants are engaged in the community or are passionate about things, so posting about your extracurriculars, passions, or other stuff can sway colleges in your favour.
Core Competency Reflection
I can make choices that keep me safe in my community and online. I now know the dangers of posting on social media and how to have a positive digital footprint
I can tell what is important to me and I can explain my values. I used this to make positive social media posts.
I can work to inform myself about issues surrounding me. I was taught about how negative social media posts can affect my life and how to avoid becoming like those losers who got kicked out of Harvard before even starting.
I can analyze evidence to make judgements. I read all the articles about people not being able to get jobs or into university and decided I would make a positive digital footprint for myself.
Goal: I can represent my learning and tell how it connects to my experiences. I’ll work on getting better by practising and putting more time and effort into it.
