It is important to remember who benefits from advertisements so that you don’t accidentally support bad people and bad business practices.

Ethical persuasion is effective as it takes someone the viewer trusts and makes them tell the viewer that this product is good and trustworthy.

Bandwagoning is effective as it makes people feel left out and like they need to buy this product.

Core Competency Reflection

One of the ways I ensured my group was clear on what we were doing was to discuss the plan with them before starting the project.

I used to think that advertisements were trying to manipulate me into buying the product and now I know that’s true because companies will purposefully use strategies to manipulate consumers.

I showed that I valued feedback from others in my group by applying their feedback to my half of the work.
