Persuasion and Advertisement Techniques

Persuasion and Advertisement Unit Reflection

  • Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement?
    • So, the manufacturers who advertise their products can profit from people buying them.
  • Choose one form of persuasion and explain why it effectively persuades you/an audience.
    • Logical
      • When you use Logical, people can be persuaded with facts that benefit the person wanting to purchase the item.
    • Ethical
      • Ethical persuasion can convince people to buy a product because others say the advertised product is worthy of purchase.
    • Emotional
      • Emotional persuasions can touch the purchaser’s heart by connecting them to a personal moment.
  • Choose an advertising technique and explain why it effectively sells a product.
    • Straightforward Ads are an effective way of selling a product because they explain the product without hiding anything about it. This gives the purchaser trust and shows them what they get if they buy the product.

Core Competency Reflection

One strategy or activity that stimulated my imagination on this project was using inspiration from other ideas and combining other things for a better final result on my project while not directly copying something in the end.

My First Year

ADL Social Studies- Ethical Judgement

Is Violence justified in a Revolution?

A) How did the use of AI assist you in developing this project

I was able to use AI to find some arguments for my side i was fighting for. By

B) How did you ensure that the work you created was still your own, rather than just a product of the AI

With the reference link that the AI found for my arguments I would read everything in the website to find supports for the argument.

C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not?

Yes, I do agree with my position because when you are fighting for a change against a person or institution who has great power, violence can send a better message than just sending a message. It can bring fear depending on what you do.

Core Competency Reflection

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know, I explain what I need from them and ask what they need from me then continue the work I need to continue.

One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to explain to everyone what our current task is and i try to make sure everyone is on task though out time.

Blender Buildings Scene

  1. I deliberately learn about things that interest me, and new ideas pop into my head.
    • I chose this one because I had to figure out how to add textures on my buildings without the image stretching and looking like weird wiggles
  2. I persevere with challenging tasks and take ownership of my goals, learning and behavior.
    • I chose this because when I thought I had finished I realized that I forgot a major part on the assignment causing me to remake the project
  3. I can identify my strengths and identify my potential.
    • I chose this because I thought this was very easy so I could think of continuing this to become better

A day with my dad

Budget: $300

What am I going to do to make this special?

I plan to have a fun-filled day with my dad. Our day would start with two rounds of Laser Tag. After the games, we will drive to the Go Karting arena where we will have two races. Later, we will go to my dad’s favorite restaurant, The Keg. There, my dad will order his favorite meal, the Steak and Prime Rib, while I will have a burger. After finishing the meals, we will end the day by watching a movie at the theatre.

Analysis: Answer the following questions.

  1. How much did you end up spending on your special day?
    • I spent $293.27.
  2. What percentage of the total budget did you end up spending?
    • I used %97.76 of the budget
  3. What might you have done differently if you only had a budget of $100?
    • I would probably remove items that cost a lot and take a long time to travel to the destination such as the Go Karting that cost $107.37 for the grand total.
    • Another thing I would’ve done is decrease the amount of times we did an activity such as the laser tag bringing the price to $87.90 to $43.95.
  4. What might you have done differently if you had a budget of $500?
    • Firstly, I would have bought some snacks like popcorn or drinks at the theatre for us.
    • I might have changed the plan for the day slightly, for example, by going skiing instead of go-karting.

Reflection: Answer the following Core Competency questions.

  1. Why did you choose this specific person? Why do you believe they deserve to be celebrated?
    • I chose my dad because in the previous weekend that this post was created it was his birthday, so I thought it was a good idea to make this project related to something that had recently occurred.
  2. Why did you choose to spend your budget the way you did? What factors went into your decisions?
    • I had spent the budget on activities that we had done before or that I knew he liked.

How My Life Would Be In Fractions

Hey there! This post is about how my life would be if it were in the form of fractions. It will have fractions that talk about what I do in an average day, and then I’ll try to dive into the subject even more. I hope you will enjoy it!

Just a side note these fractions will be in minutes not hours, it will show both the regular fraction and the simplified fraction.

Mornings

Normally I will wake up at 7:00 and be at school around 8:30 which in fractions that would be about 90/1440 (1/16). But what do I do to get ready, how long does it take? Well, lets dive into that.

when I wake up in the morning I first brush my teeth, and take my medication, which normally takes 5 minutes so that would be 5/90 (1/18) in a fraction form.

The next thing I do is make my breakfast and eat it which is 10 minutes of my time as the fraction of that would be 10/90 (1/9).

After that I make my lunch which usually take me 15 minutes that’s 15/90 (1/6) as a fraction.

I get my hair ready for school that takes about 8 minutes to get ready so that’s 8/90 (4/45) in a fraction.

The last thing I do is get my bag ready then wait for my parents to drive me to school which it usually till 8:00 so that’s about 22 minutes, 22/90 (11/45) as a fraction.

Then I get driven to school that takes about 30 minutes because I live at surrey (for this example) 30/90 (1/3) for the fraction.

School Hours

School starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:15 PM, that’s 6 hours that’s 360/1440 (1/4) as a fraction, but how long are the blocks, what do I do in each block?

Every Block is 72 minutes which is 72/360 (1/5) as a fraction

On Block 1 I have LEC to 9:00 – 10:12
Block 2 I have math 9 to 10:16 – 11:28

I have lunch next which is shorter than a normal block starting at 11:28 and ending at 12:13, that’s 45 minutes which is 45/360 (1/8) as a fraction

for block 3 I have social studies 9 between 12:13-1:25

Then this extra block for flex happens at 1:29 to 1:59

and my last block (block 4) is ICT9 for 2:03-3:15

After Hours

School ends at 3:15 PM and I go to sleep at 9:30 PM that’s 555/1440 (37/96) as a fraction. But we need to see what I do after school, so lets explore that.

After school I get picked up my my mother and drive to her home, or I walk to my dads home and the average time it takes to get to any of their homes is 30 minutes in a fraction that is 30/555 (2/37).

When I get home I take another 30 minutes to do whatever I want which it also 30/555 (2/37)

After my 30 minute break I do my homework, I plan my homework by doing my work for 1 hour 60/555 (4/37) as a fraction, then take a 10 minute break which is 10/555 (2/111) as a fraction. I repeat this until It is dinner (or when I’m done my work) and dinner is usually ready at 6:30, so I’ll spend around 2 hours and 15 minutes on work that’s 235/555 (47/111) when converted as a fraction.

When its dinner my family watches an episode of the Simpson’s while eating and the average length of an episode is 23 minutes, so I spend 23/555 eating dinner as a fraction.

after dinner I do dishes that take about 30 minutes so that’s again as a fraction 30/555 (2/37).

once the dishes are done I either continue my homework or if I’m done play with my friends online until its 8:00 so that’s about 37 minutes and as a fractions that’s 37/555 (1/15).

when the time hits 8:00 my mom wants to watch a movie with everyone so my family watches a movie that around 1 hour and 20 minutes, 80/555 (16/111) as a fraction.

after the movie its 10 minutes 1(0/555 (2/111) as a fraction) until I have to go to bed so at that time I get ready, then I go to sleep.

Sleeping

So, if i go to bed at 9:30PM and get up at 7:00AM I would get 9 hours and 30 minutes of sleep, in a fraction that would be 570/1440 (19/48)
