Personal/Social Competency Reflection
I make digital ethical choices such as (consider commenting on others’ posts, thinking about what you put online) …in order to gain a positive footprint for my reputation, relationships with people both off and online and future opportunities as it has an impact when applying for college admissions, recruiting for a position in a job, etc. As people can perceive a negative image of me.
Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include regulating myself to not overshare private information, post regarding negatively, and basically keeping everything appropriate.
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including a damaged reputation, relationships with others, rejections from school or protentional job role you’re applying for. Ways I avoid this is to adjust my actions to basically do the same thing stated above, for example being mindful when uploading comments, posting pictures, adjusting my settings to private and to generally have a positive digital footprint.
