Core Competency Reflection

Collaboration

One of the ways I ensure that my group is clear on the common purpose, is to divide the subject that will be done in a certain day or time-span. For example, we would focus on writing the script in English first-hand, then take time to proof-read to ensure the timeline of the story is perfect and meets all the requirement. After that, we have a solid plan, we write out the French translation, then repeat the process of working at one subject at a time. This could also be done by assigning roles to each person, such as distributing tasks to make the work more efficient. Setting these goals for my group, ensures that everyone can understand what is happening at hand and focus on a certain topic one at a time to avoid confusion, without the work being overcomplicated. Additionally this ensures our time management better and use the remainder of the time to practice presenting.

Critical and Reflective Thinking

I can contribute to and work with criteria to improve my own work; evidence of that is by writing notes in class like faire, dislikes &likes, some, any, pouvoir, vouloir, etc. I apply these notes into the French script. I also take notes of chapters we read in class, like conversation between the merchant and shopper, this helps me look back and reference off phrases used and incorporate it into the skits.

Communication

To work towards my goal going forward. My strategy for collecting relevant information for specific tasks is to practice the vocab sheet. For the vocab chapter 6, some words that were suppose to be familiar with, I was still new with it, since I did not take the time to study. Therefore, I’m going to make an effort to practice and say the words aloud.
