Thinking Core Competency- Creative Thinking
Our original idea was to balance the spoon on two stuck together lego bricks. Although it was originally a joke, the ping-pong ball was propelled quite far using this method. It became our goal to build a contraption which could overtake the lego-brick catapults maximum distance. It took quite a bit of tinkering and problem solving work, but in the end, my partner and I figured out how to ensure our project was completely hands free. Whenever I felt stuck, I made a list of issues our catapult had, and worked through them one by one, until we had a fully-functioning machine. Next time, I think we could definitely improve on simplifying the base of the catapult, as it seems to be quite busy, and there are certainly components that could be removed or made less complex.
