Curricular Competency Reflection
To create my posters, I drew inspiration and gathered information from each brands unique identity and visual lifestyle. I researched high end car advertisements, focusing on sleek, minimalist aesthetics that highlight luxury and performance. To capture this, I used Adobe Photoshop and included images off google and used fonts and colours that matched the brands tone- elegant for Porsche and futuristic for BMW. The process included going over the posters many times where we adjusted the layouts and colour to make sure they fit the luxury feeling. After creating the posters, I looked at how well they represented each brand and asked my partner for feedback (vice-versa) to see what worked and what could be improved. A goal I have for future assignments like this are making the poster more eye-catching.
Core Competency Reflection
Communication Prompts:
I select images and words that make a strong impact on specific audiences, like aiming to highlight luxury for car enthusiasts or a relatable message for a general audience. I also gather information from various sources, like brand research and competitor ads, to ensure that my work is correct and done to my best ability.
Collaboration Prompts:
I understand the difference between basic “group work” and true collaboration, which involves everyone contributing ideas and working towards a shared purpose. One way I ensure our group is clearly aligned is by clearly defining our goals and making sure everyone understands their role.
Critical and Reflective Thinking Prompts:
I remain open minded as I explore alternative approaches, like when I included more exampled for the writing part assignments after getting feedback from my teacher for past assignments. Others find my feedback useful because I give detailed and informative feedback.
