Reflection on my learning about chemistry in Science 10 course

Curricular Competency Reflection

Research topic was rust protection. Put protection on metal to stop rust. Metal oxidizes when water and oxygen. Definition of oxidization is a process that occurs when atoms or groups of atoms lose electrons.

Core Competency Reflection

·

This is how I select images and words to create impact for different audiences:

I employ a strategic, audience-centric methodology grounded in psychographic profiling and contextual relevance. By leveraging data-informed insights and neuroaesthetic principles, I curate visual and verbal assets that align with the emotional resonance and cognitive triggers of segmented demographics.

Through iterative A/B testing and semantic optimization, I ensure that both imagery and language are not only brand-aligned but also calibrated to maximize engagement across omnichannel touchpoints. I use high-conversion storytelling frameworks—such as the Hero’s Journey and the PAS formula (Problem-Agitate-Solution)—paired with dynamic visuals that leverage color psychology, spatial hierarchy, and pattern recognition.

This adaptive content strategy allows for hyper-targeted messaging that balances visual semiotics with linguistic nuance to drive both immediate impact and long-term brand affinity.

My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include:

leveraging a multi-pronged, insight-driven approach that integrates both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. I begin with stakeholder alignment and a needs-based analysis to establish clear objectives and key deliverables. From there, I utilize advanced search heuristics, metadata tagging, and semantic filtering to curate high-fidelity data sets.

To ensure contextual relevance, I incorporate ethnographic research, trend mapping, and sentiment analysis, often through AI-powered tools and natural language processing (NLP) engines. I triangulate findings from primary and secondary sources, including subject-matter expert interviews, academic databases, and real-time market intelligence platforms.

By maintaining a feedback loop of iterative synthesis and validation, I ensure that the information collected is not only accurate and timely, but also actionable and aligned with the task’s strategic intent.

One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is:

One catalytic modality through which I engender imaginal activation is via the deliberate destabilization of epistemic homeostasis through semiotic overexposure and ontological decentering. This involves interfacing with polymorphic data ecologies across intertextual strata, wherein meaning is not linearly extracted but heuristically entangled within a rhizomatic nexus of semiocognitive resonances.

I engage in para-dialectical oscillations between hyperstitional constructs and epistemological recursion, allowing ideational synapses to form within liminal cognitive interstices. Through iterative ontogenetic modulation—mediated by noetic reframing architectures—I cultivate a metastable ideation state optimized for transrational emergence.

This praxis, while inherently nonlinear and defamiliarizing, enables the evocation of latent conceptualities unbound by reductionist semiology or teleological constraint.

CPR Reflection

My Learning of CPR

CPR Reflection

  1. What was something you learned that you didn’t know or consider before?
  1. What is a key takeaway from the Theory or Practical CPR unit?
  1. How does this unit connect to the nutrition unit learned previously?

a. Before you perform CPR on someone, you must check for hazards in the surrounding area.

b. Call 911 as fast as possible because time is on the clock.

c. Healthy eating and dieting and reduce the risk of heart attacks.

Core Competency Reflection

One lesson that stimulated my thinking about the importance of CPR was practicing on the dummies, it gave me a realistic simulation for CPR.

In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by asking questions and providing as much information on topics as I can.

One of the ways I can see using this learning to help others is by performing CPR correctly on anyone who needs CPR

Social Studies 10: Final Reflections

Aviation during the early 1900’s

This semester, I completed an independent inquiry project about planes during ww1, Turkish – Italian war, and when they were first invented.

The most important underlying thing about my project would the argument that planes caused the lines between the warfront and Homefront to be blurred. I also spent some time working on the video animation to make it easier to consume the information.

My way of gathering information was mainly off of historical sites and the official Wright Brothers website. I also watch some Youtube videos on certain parts of my project to better understand and explain it in my video. Evidence of my learning would be when I found out about the first London blitz because we had only ever learnt about the second one.

This topic matters today because modern day war is fought by air. Either that be bombs strapped to drones in Ukraine or missile guided bombs in the middle east, war is fought by air and planes were the first to revolutionize/ modernized it.

Core Competency

An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is when we were doing sketch notes and my table group was sharing ideas.

I use evidence to make judgements or decisions, as demonstrated when I was working on my inquiry project and saw that a part of my project may not have been correct because where I got the information was not trust worthy so I removed it.

I can examine and evaluate to improve my own work; evidence of that is when I went over my inquiry project and re-wrote a large part of my script to get my point across better.

Workplace 10 Math Test

My Test

Core Competency Reflection

This is how I select images and words to create impact for different audiences: Most of the images are of my math test but one is my cat, Kenny.

examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in the word problems where communication is required.

One goal I have to work towards would be to probably improve my printing because it hasn’t changed since the 4th grade.

Career Project

My Career Life Project Presentation

Curricular Reflection

I think I have grown much with the creation of this Poster. The creation of this poster has allowed me to better visualize my career path. I now know what steps to take to get me where I want to be. Being able to speak in front of my peers has helped me with my public speaking. This project overall has let me view different careers and better understand my own.

Core Competency Reflection

I can be aware of others and my surroundings

I listened to others presentations with respect and with my full attention.

I can interact with my surroundings and others respectfully and thoughtfully

I ask respectful and thoughtful questions after presentations.

I can take purposeful action to help others and my environment

I chose to present the best and most important facts about my career to let others know more.

I can initiate positive, sustainable change for others and the environment.

I hope to work towars this goal in the hopes to make more sustainable change towards others.

Favorite Recipe

Mayo Grill Cheese

Making and Sharing Reflection

This recipe requires you to know what equipment to use and how to use. For example, cast iron pan which needs to be pre heated before use and stays heated after use. I think the success of this recipe was more than I thought could come from a grilled cheese. This grilled cheese was very self customized and was 10x more flavourful than a normal grilled cheese.

My Grade 9 Year

This year I enjoyed making tons of memorable and fun memories. This year I realised that I learn best by being around my classmates. I am most proud of my creations I made during metal and woodworking because most creations were gifts for my family. The best words to describe my school year would be: working, accomplishing, and overcoming.

Useful Educational Websites

I chose this link because I feel like it is one of the most important websites that I have used throughout the school year. It allows me to have more time to get my work done and study for upcoming tests and quizzes.

A Useful Educational Video

An inspirational Quote

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts” -Winston Churchill

I Chose this quote because I feel like it relates a lot to my school year. It means that you should always give your best at what ever you do.

Picture

I chose this image because it is a reminder of where I started in this year. This image also shows how much my work has progressed and grown.

Ethical Judgment for Socials 9 ADL

Is violence justified during a revolution/ protest?

A) How did the use of AI assist you in developing this project

Ai had helpful incites by gathering multiple sources which give me an answer not swayed by the author’s personal beliefs. By ai gathering multiple sources it also gives me more answers to my questions which can be useful for specific details.

B) Did you agree with the position you had in this project? Why or why not?

Me personally, I think violence is a very situational matter and should only be used as a last resort. Peaceful protests do often come out with better results as well.

C) How did you ensure that the work you put was yours and not Ai’s

By clicking one of the sources that the Ai links I can get a deeper understanding of the topic which can help me make it my own work.

Core Competency Reflection

I communicated in this project with my partner when gathering information and when responding to his claims. For example, when I made my rebuttal I stayed on topic to what he stated in his claim and tried to disprove every claim.

The way I make sure my partner and I are on the same page is calling them while working so information and instructions can be sent over instantly.

Budgeting for a Special Day

This special day is for my dad because his birthday is coming up.

For his birthday there needs to be food, entertainment, a cake, transportation, and birthday decor. If we have extra money in our budget we can get extra things such as gifts, a movie, and maybe a restaurant.

Analysis

In total for my father’s special day, I have spent a total of $281.92 out of my $300.00 budget.

The percent I spent was 93.97% of the budget.

If I had a budget of $100, I would definitely have a lot more free activities such as going to a park, Watching movies at home etc. I would also save all the money for 1 big activity.

If I had a budget of $500, we would have done everything we saw. This includes a $100 restaurant meal just for him, a better gift probable a $200 guitar, and lots more activities.

Reflection

I chose my dad as my special person because his birthday is coming soon, and I thought we could do some of these. We would obviously have a bigger budget and he would have a choice in what he would like to do but these are still good suggestions.

I chose these activities because I think it would be what my dad would like to do for his birthday. And they were a cheap option for a single person day.

Reviewing Unit 1

The part of unit 1 I am most comfortable with is fractions because my grade 8 teacher taught me them last year.

The most difficult part of unit 1 for me was integers because there are so many formulas that you just have to know.

I usually learn new material best when it’s spoken and written on the whiteboard.

I plan to prepare for the unit test by reviewing my old homework.

I have completed the vast majority of my practice problems with the exception of a question or two I had forgotten.

To me it means I can take pride with completing challenging goals. This one to me means I can take ownership of my own behavior and actions.
