Persuasion and Advertisement Unit Reflection

Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement?

It is important to know who benefits because it is still the company who gets the money their customers spends and profits from them. Even if one is thinking they are getting a good deal, the really are not.

Choose one form of persuasion and explain why it is effective in persuading you/an audience: logical, ethical, emotional

I believe that logical is the most effective way to persuade an audience if it is a good quality product because one is showing the audience how well built or made there product is. On the other hand, if the company build a more poor product, ethical and emotional persuasion is more effective since the states on their product might not be helpful if they advertise it.

Choose an advertising technique and explain why it is effective in selling a product.

Testimonial is an effective advertising technique as we see it in ads all the time. For example, if one is on the edge of deciding if they would like to buy a product or not, their pushing point might be seeing someone famous who is using that brand and then they decide to buy it because of this person.

Core Competency Reflection

I knew my group is working well together when I heard communication amongst our group members. It is important to communicate between your group so it’s easier for everyone to work well together.

I used to think the customers got a deal through advertisement now I know the company is only wanting to profit themselves. They will make sales like buy two get one free and thought that might seem like a good deal, they are truly just wanting to make profit.

When my group was not productive, we had a discission in order to get things moving in the right direction. This help us so we all knew what we needed to do and knew what our other group members were doing.

My First Year

My Grade 9 Year

This year I enjoyed English. Usually, I find English to be a challenge for me and I have never enjoyed it. Though, this year Mrs. Gauer has made English an enjoyable journey. I have been getting better grades this year in English then my previous years. I have also expanded my vocabulary, fixed my grammar, and fixed my punctuation.

The reason I chose this website is because this is a website that has helped me with math in the past and the present. It gave great examples and comparisons to real life which allowed me to understand the concept better.

The reason I chose this video is because climate change is an important and current thing we all need to understand. This video gives us important information while also engaging the audiences.

A Useful Educational Image

The reason I chose this image is because this is the photo of when the railway was complete. This was an important piece of Canadian history as the railway is complete allowing people to travel faster and allow people to transport items more quick and efficiently.

The reason I chose this quote is because this is not just a true quote for sports, but also for school and life. If you don’t try something like a course or club, you’ll never know what it’s like. If you do try it, you may find yourself enjoying it quite a lot.

Is Violence justified in a Revolution?

A) How did the use of AI assist you in developing this project?

The AI assisted me in my project by searching thing that I wanted to know and only showed the key points, but also sourced where they got it from.

B) How did you ensure that the work you created was still your own, rather than just a product of the AI?

I ensure that the work I created was still my own, rather than just a product of the AI by using the AI’s thinking, but changed it in my own words so that I am not copying its work word for word even though i still used to work the AI used.

C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not? 

Yes I do agree that violence in a revolution is justified because if there is a situation that is very bad and the government is not changing with just protesting, then i do believe that violence is justified in a revolution.

Core Competency Reflection 

I use evidence to make judgements or decisions as demonstrated in this project when I searched up events when violence was used in a justified way. One of my examples was the 1989 Tiananmen Square protest. Student were peacefully protesting and the government sent in soldiers and tanks to shoot at the protesters, so the protesters fought back and one would believe that this would be justified time to have violence in a revolution.

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I feel like I can focus more and not get off task. Another things is that I then get to know someone new who I might never have know if we did not do this group project.
