My Movie
Plot, Character, Setting and Mood
I used the description that was given for the other mother avatar in the book. For Coraline, I based it off of the front cover as there was not a lot about her physical appearance. (Description of other mother: “She looked a little like Coraline’s mother. Only… Only her skin was white as paper. Only she was taller and thinner. Only her fingers were too long, and they never stopped moving, and her dark red fingernails were curved and sharp.”) The plot points I chose to focus on are ones that would connect to the previous one so whoever had to read them would be able to follow along and not get lost. The mood in the story or movie is the emotional feeling that the author wants the audience to feel. Music supports that. When picking the song, I tried to pick what I felt would fit the mood of the story. I picked something that everyone would hopefully agree on for a song as that way it would be easier to tell my audience what kind of mood my book has. Coraline took place at “the turn of the millennium” which was the year 2000.After doing this project I loved that I was able to really focus more on my book and getting to know each part better instead of closing the book and ending it there.
