Personal Awareness and Responsibility: How I manage school-related stress

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, i listen to music to calm myself and redirect my attention to my work.

Some of the things I do to stay mentally and physically healthy include different excercises. i usually walk on my running mashine or practive kickboxing. This usually hypes me up or makes me feel positive after which helps me both mentally and physically.

When I am feeling down about school, I remind myself that time will pass eventually ill be able to leave or stay with my friends. Or maybe just get over the fact.

When I make mistakes, I don’t beat myself up. Instead I tell myself its not a big deal and get over the fact. learning off of it.

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I try to be nice and respectful. Talking to them in respect of there opinions and ideas. Which always turns out with a good friend or a classmate I can ask too.

One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to ask. If I miss hear or forget about something I will always ask. Even if it has already been over, I ask again to make sure they hadn’t changed anything.

I believe this writing reflects as a strength in showing my creativity, as it shows how I use different words and sentences to make the poem flow. However, it also shows my weakness; lack of complex words and my ability to present confidently to the class. in the presentation I had a hard time looking up and sometimes reading a bit too fast. If I had to change something it would be my ability to present and use more unique and complex words.

To me, I think this assignment was a bit harder than the other ones because it takes more time for me to think or words, so it rhymes but also sounds smooth. It was also hard to edit because if I had changed one sentence it may affect another because of the rhyme. made me pretty angry. I loved this because it gave us, the students, lots of freedom, however I would rather do assignments like the journal, where we have to write our opinion, or answer a question in a paragraph way.

a. Which advertising technique did you choose and how did you use that technique to create your poster?  I used the glittering generalities technique. This technique was used in the ad to make it sound more connectable or appealing to the person looking at the ad. Making the person think about how comfy, stylish and cool the product may really be.

b. Explain how and why you chose the colours, words, background, etc. that you used to make your advertisement. I chose these colours not just because they were suggested but because it helps the words pop out, not too much that it would feel awkward but enough to make someone interested and intrigued. 

c. What do you think others who aren’t in your class should know about advertising? They should know that lots of words always the best for advertising. Unlike paragraphs or essays it is almost always better to use simple words and photos for advertisement. After all the whole point is to grasp the audience’s attention, not bore them.

This is how I selected images and words to create an impact for my planned audience: When I was coming up with ideas for the ad I tried to think of something many people liked or wanted. And for me I love fashion, but I also like to feel comfortable in my clothes. So, the first thing I thought of was baggy clothing. They are cool, fashionable, and comfy. Not being too tight or showing too much. Being comfortable and still having the looks. For adults, for example parents love wearing something comfortable, and young adults love fashion. So put them together and have something everyone wants.

I used to think that catchy songs and funny ads were the only main strategies about advertising and now I know that there are more than just video ads. Learning lots about all the different strategies in advertisement not just video but also in posters. After learning and going over the strategies, I believe that the ad making project did help. Unlike what I had thought the project made me rethink all of the strategies, helping me understand the way of making persuading ads.

In the first few weeks of science, our class did an experiment called the egg drop challenge. An experiment where we make a container to drop the egg in. The main goal was being able to drop the egg (Eddie) into the container without the egg breaking. We got a week to make the container and I was put in a group of six. “I can take on roles and responsibilities in a group; I do my share.” (core competency) I believe I did my part in the project. In the group I had brought more than one supply (bowl, and string). spending as much time as possible to finish the container. I also used my flex block to finish making the container (credit to Gia who was the only other one who helped). Bringing supplies, giving my time, and making ideas, I believe that I had done my share in the assignment.

Through this activity I gained knowlege of ways to make a softer container, and comunicate batter with my groupmates. if I could improve in the next project I would replan and think over our plan once again before starting anything.
