Budgeting for a Special Day

For this assignment I am making it for my friends from middle school and I because we haven’t had a proper hangout since grade 8. We all went our separate ways at high school because of where we live, so if we ever had the chance to hang out again, I would be really grateful. This day will be sometime in July, not too hot, not too windy.

I ended up spending $268.94 out of my $300 budget. The percentage of my budget spent was 89.64%. If my budget was $100, I would probably only take out Playland and do everything else, but only with my best friend. If my budget was $500, I would spend my money on thrill passes and rapid passes for my friends and I (rapid passes allows you to skip lines).

1. Why did you choose this specific person? Why do you believe they deserve to be celebrated?

I chose my friends from middle school because I haven’t seen them for so long. One of my friends got into IB at Port Moody Secondary, and my other friends take honours classes.

2. Why did you choose to spend your budget the way you did? How did your values influence your decisions

I thought back to the summer before grade 9, and we all had the most fun at Playland when we all went together and I want to be able to experience that again without having to worry about school or our availability.
