Core Competencies

In this CLE 10 assignment I demonstrated my thinking skills by taking my time to make my layout and figuring out what i was going to draw. My thinking skills were also demonstrated when I other peoples ideas and took inspiration from them but made it my own.

Another core competency that I demonstrated in this assignment was my communicating skills, by talking to my friends and peers when i was stuck on what to draw and listening to them and also getting inspired from them to make my final product.

Reflection

To sum it all up I feel I’ve demonstrated them two main core competencies which are thinking and communicating, now these probably are the main two but for me i thinking it was good that i communicated with others and used my thinking ability because i feel, that without getting input from others and inspiration from others, I wouldn’t have had the final product that i did. I’m not the most creative person nor am i a very good at drawing, so getting help from my friends who are artist helped boost my creativity. This project definitely made me develop more on my thinking and communicating skills, even though I’ve used them many times before, it was fun answering my friends questions about my culture which was new to them. Overall this Me Card project made me communicate with my friends to come up with creative ideas for my drawings and brung out my thinking skills.

French 9 Reflection

Progress Reflection

Looking back at day one French class I was not the most confident in my French skills, but now after 5 months of doing French 9 my confidence has definitely boosted because of how well I’ve done on pasts tests and cahiers. On the first day i thought my average in this class would’ve been a developing because i thought French would be very complicated to learn, But now i think it’s very easy to read, however i do get mixed up with accents.

Work Habits & Core Competencies

One of the Projects I’m most proud of in this course, is my Family Tree project. I think that in this project in was able to show my creativity and from afar it might just look like a regular and basic family tree but I decided to add a little more creativity by hanging cut out apples of a painted tree the front had the picture and the back had the descriptions in French. In this project I really had to use my thinking skills to make my project as creative as possible as well as my communication skills, by talking and communicating with others i was able to ask them what they were doing, wether it was a video or a poster. What went well was i was able to make it my own style instead of using a lot of inspiration from others and i would say it turned out very nice, something i would do differently is that it was kind of rushed because i did it pretty last minute, so next time i wouldn’t procrastinate as much and do it nice and start early. Overall this project was my favourite because of its creativity and visuals.

Core Competency Reflection

1. Communication:

• Throughout this project I effectively gave Emily ideas on what information we could put on our project, so I was in charge of finding information that went a long with information that Emily found.

• To find my information i searched a lot on google and then i double checked my socials notes so that none of my research was incorrect.

2. Critical Thinking:

• I would say that doing a project on Marie Antoinette was quite simple and it was also quite simple to check that my information was correct because of the knowledge i had about her from doing The French Revolution unit in social studies.

• One challenge we did face was trying to connect Marie Antoinette to French 9 and not just make our whole project a social studies research project, but in the end we connected her palace to rooms in a house.

3. Personal & Social Awareness:

• Learning about Marie Antoinette was not new knowledge but a perspective i did gain was how i could connect her to French, how i didn’t know what she was saying in her quotes which were in French, but now i know because of taking the course of French9

• I definitely did not want to keep this project too formal while writing information, so i wanted to be more like myself when talking about her “let them eat cake” quote or how everything was connected to French 9.

4. Creative Thinking:

• The creativity in this project by me and Emily i would say is very bold, not too bold but we tried to make our poster as neat and aesthetic as possible and i would say our poster turned out very chic.

• If I did this project again, i would definitely make a video instead of a poster, because we’ve all seen posters here and there but a creative video with editing would have been even more creative.

Core Competency Reflection

During this activity, there were some things that i liked and some i found challenging. To start off, the first 5 questions of changing the line so that the marble would hit the stars was easy, however it kept getting more challenging. The easiest question in this activity was probably the second one because it was basically the same as the first one and it only needed one adjustment. The hardest one in this activity was the one where we had to arrange to the lines so that they would hit the stars which were in an almost diamond shaped order. Overall i would say i need to study and work more on graphing.

Is Violence Justified During a Revolution or Protest?

A) How did the use of AI assist you develop this project?

Without AI I wouldn’t have been able to make my points agreeable, AI helped me put my words into a more persuasive format. AI also gave me a lot more information from different news articles that we did not go over in class, or we did go over but they weren’t as detailed. AI also made points simpler to understand, such as explaining what the march on Versailles was, or the Great Fear.

B) How did you ensure that the work you created as still your own rather than just a product of AI

The words AI explained to me in were sometimes kind of wordy, and hard to understand, i took those words and searched up what they meant and then used my own words to describe that particular word. I also did change up a few sentences that i thought were tricky to understand. I also made sure not rely on AI fully, so i did add some info from the notes in class.

C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not?

I argued on the pro side, but i do believe that violence should never be used to such a point like it was in the French Revolution. This revolution was bloody and people were executed for basically no reason. People were executed by the guillotine without even going on trial, people such as nuns, priests, nobles, men, women and even children. Out of all these people children should’ve never been executed, this was called the reign of terror and even Maximilien Robespierre, the one who lead the reign of terror, was also executed. That is how violent this Revolution was and i do not agree with it at all.

Core Competency

Some examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen when I only ask for help from my peers when i need to, such as asking them to help me cite a website when i am having difficulties doing so. This makes sure that i don’t distract them from their own work. When i need to work collaboratively with i people i don’t know very well, i make sure to talk to them on what parts of the project their most confident in doing, and also try and make small talk and try to help them when they ask for my help.

Drama 9

Core Compentencies

In my drama 9 class, I demonstrated personal, and group work. In drama 9 we did a lot of group activities in which everyone played a fair role, when I was working in my groups, we all took turns listening to what each person had to say or if they had anything to add on into our play. In groups you sometimes have to create scripts, so everyone in the group gets a say in what is put into the script. Drama did not require a lot of individual work, it was always in groups or pairs, which I found very enjoyable and fun, because when you have to go up on stage and perform in front of the class its less nerve racking because you always had other people on stage with you, of course in some parts of our plays required us to do individual scenes, but its only scary to do those scenes at first and then you slowly ease into it.

Core Competency Reflection

Some things I think about before dividing tasks among group members include, asking my partner what they’re good at so the work can be neatly complete. If me and my partner are stuck on a step we figured out how to complete it by working together, when it came to actually adding the wires things became complicated because if the correct things weren’t connected the lights wouldn’t turn on, so when we got stuck we learned how to do it together and it all worked.

My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include asking the teacher, or trying to figure out where i went wrong and re do the task, when a wire was place incorrectly i tried putting in other spots before the light finally worked.

English 9 Spoken Word: Self Reflection

Curricular Response

One of my strengths while authoring this poem was the use of my figurative devices and my sound devices. I feel I used a good amount of my figurative language to construct this poem, however one of my weaknesses was removing and adding lots of lines in the making of it. I wanted to make sure that my poem was presentable enough so that the class would engage in it. Another reason I kept adding and removing lines was to make sure that my poem was 2 minutes long, but when i got up in front of the class i think i read too fast and it became shorter. That would also be one of my weaknesses, that I’m not confident enough to present in front of a class. Weaknesses aside i feel that my poem was overall good and presentable.

Core Competencies Self Reflection

I think my top priorities for my upcoming and completed assignments in English 9 will be making sure that i put enough effort into them. Although i cannot go back and fix my old assignments which weren’t done with loads of detail and thought, i hope that for my upcoming work in English will have improved and will show signs of effort. I feel my old assignments weren’t detailed enough because i was rushing to get them done. Now I’ve realized that I shouldn’t rush and actually put effort into the work that needs to be done. This is the only way to get good grades moving forward in English 9

Blender Food Assignment Reflection

Core Competencies

In this assignment I demonstrated communication and collaboration skills by asking the teacher questions on how to complete my assignment properly, and helping my peers when they were confused on steps.

I also demonstrated personal responsibility because I was able to find videos on YouTube to create the 3 food items, and I was able to follow the instructions shown in the video by myself.

Lastly, I demonstrated thinking skills by taking my time to think about what to do next when I got stuck while making a food item.

Persuasion and Advertising Learning Reflection

To create my poster the technique I used was making the advertisement look pretty, by adding pink roses and pink background.

Pink is a very popular color and by making it pink it would probably catch lots of attention.

Something others should know about advertising is making sure whatever your advertising is eye catching.

Core Competency Reflection

One strategy or activity that stimulated my imagination on this project was how eye catching all perfume ads are, every perfume ad I’ve seen the company make sure that the type of perfume they are advertising is very well put together and is visually appealing.

Some skills I have developed to make my creative activities better are making sure everything is very organized and visually appealing.
