Appreciation & Depreciation
An appreciation equation is when something goes up in value and it is shown as an equation, for example beanie babies, since the 90’s they’ve gone up in value and depreciation is when something goes down in value such as a phone, once it has been bought and used, over the years it will go down in value.
M and B in an equation
M in an equation is used to represent the slope and b is always the constant and in an equation, the constant is always the starting point
Core Competencies-Reflection
Communication: in this assignment we used lots of inspiration from the workbooks and examples to make our word problems, however we couldn’t just copy word for word so we had to put those equations in our own words with our own numbers so that we weren’t just copying but also putting in our own ideas but we did use some mathematical words for inspiration to make our word problems sound more professional
Creative Thinking: using our own examples instead of the ones in the work book, we priced items significant to us and they might sound common but also the numbers, using big numbers gets challenging and we decided to add numbers in the 100k’s to make it slightly more challenging instead of both of them being relatively easy
Collaboration: working with a partner is much better than working by myself because in some cases there is stuff that I don’t know that my partner does and they can help me and vice versa, and working with my partner it wasn’t just one person working and writing, we were both thinking of what to write and we had to make sure our word problems made sense
