
PHE Core Competency Reflection
A few things that cause stress in my life would be having lots of assignments, and I get even more stressed when my assignments are overdue. I also get stressed when I miss assignments due to being away, because I’m sick or for any other reason. The times i get anxiety is when i have to do anything that involves public speaking. I don’t get high anxiety from having to talk in front of people, but it definitely affects how i present overall. The day before i have to present i always start to overthink about the worst scenarios like, my voice cracking in front over everyone or me stuttering, but most of the times my voice is only a little shaky and i get through with presenting pretty fast. Since I overthink about presenting so much, to calm myself down i either take deep breaths and close my eyes, or i take sips of water, and trust it helps a lot
I do use my digital devices very often, and I especially use my phone to watch instagram or TikTok. Using my phone also helps calm me down, but watching too much can make my head hurt, so to balance out device time i often read books which can also help calm me down if i am stressed. Watching my phone has never really affected my stress or my anxiety it mainly helps me. I try not to put too much pressure on my eyes so i try not to watch my phone very often, so i also go outside in my backyard and just sit around or walk around doing whatever.
