Core Competency Reflection
This is how I select images and words to create impact for different audiences. I chose images for this project that showed some concepts and visuals that would have been difficult to communicate clearly in words. The image I chose of the Queen of the Fairies in both of her forms at once was a particularly impactful image that conveys much more to the reader than even a whole paragraph can. In this assignment choosing words is much easier as well, since the writer is so good with words that much of my job was just choosing just the right descriptions that he did of the characters and the action to convey what I needed for the project. The concepts of first sight and second thoughts was something that I particularly connected with and conveys so much with just a few words.
I seek, develop and weigh options as demonstrated by the plot points I used in my presentation and the pictures I chose for it. The plot points I used are the ones that I felt were reasonably easy for my classmates to understand and form a narrative overall. The pictures I chose back up the words with visuals that match them quite well.
An example of an idea I developed that was new to my peers are the ideas that most people see what they want to see and that only a few people see what is really there. This is true for real life as well, as many people see things the way they feel they should be and have a difficult time seeing things for how they really are. Often people simplify things for them to try to understand them better but end up losing the complicated true thing that is actually there.
