Science 10 Core Competency reflection writing

I take risks that i may not be immediately successful

I embrace challenges even when success isn’t guaranteed right away, knowing that growth often comes from taking risks. I try to stay close with my goals, learning and adapting from each experience no matter the outcome.

I examine my thinking, seek feedback, reassess my work, and adjust.

This semester, I struggled a lot with my DNA project at first because I wasn’t sure how to organize my ideas. But I started to open up to feedback from my teacher and classmates, which helped me see what I needed to improve. I took their advice, reassessed my work, and made changes that helped me do better. I still need to work on managing my time better next year, but learning to accept feedback was a big step for me.

One thing I feel I have improved on this semester is my studying habits. I learned how to organize my time and focus better when preparing for tests and assignments. I can use this strength in my next Science 11 courses by continuing to study regularly and staying organized, which will help me understand the material better in class.

Core Competency Reflection

One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to clearly communicate and reinforce the shared goals at every opportunity. I make sure to revisit the purpose in conversations like understanding what words mean and going over the skit multiple times.

· If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to… encourage people to share their thoughts and then figure out as a group what we can do to solve the problem

Communication

The ways I communicate in school are much different than how i communicate in sports such as soccer. soccer is my favorite sport and i have played for 12 years. I have always played on a high level team and am known as a leader with my loud voice on the field. At school I’m still confident and outgoing but not as vocal. I find school doesn’t need the same communication and loud voice so i don’t speak as much. But for example when we have group projects i try to step up and talk more to get a better conversation going. the main difference is soccer needs more communication so that’s why i communicate more.

examples of where i communicate clearly and purposely are seen in my work when i relate to something. if I’m writing an English paper or new math i have never learned i don’t relate to it as well so i have a hard time communicating. but if i am given freedom on what to write i feel i express my thoughts better because its something i enjoy. one example where i don’t think i communicated strongly is when we had to write about the Indian horse book. i wasn’t able to express my thoughts because i didn’t relate relate.

CPR reflection

My learning of CPR

CPR REFLECTION

i learned how to give CPR and use an AED

a key Takeaway is that u should always know how to use CPR because anything can happen

CPR helps deliver oxygen to tissues, especially the brain, where oxygen and glucose are critical for energy in your body. The nutrition unit comes into play as the body will also need nutrients to restore normal metabolic processes after the shock of the cardiac arrest and the CPR intervention.

core competency reflection

  • Examples of where I communicated clearly and purposefully can be seen in… the CPR unit is when we had to do the physical test and communicated with my group. i asked them to get help call 911 and to get an AED
  • In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by helping my group understand the concept and keeping them interested

Domain and Range

𝑦=(𝑥+1)(𝑥−1)

Domain: xeR

Range: -1 < =y

Domain refers to the set of all possible input values for which the function is defined. In simpler terms, it’s the range of values you can put into the function.

Range is the set of all possible output values (often represented as yyy) that the function can produce. It’s what you get when you apply the function to the inputs from the domain.

this is a function but not one to one because y values repeats more than once

1 I used the same mathimatical idea in finding the domain and range.

2 i used mathimatical vocabulary in explaining what domain and range is.

3 i used the graph to help me better understand the equation better and help me find the domain and range.

My First year

My grade 9 year

this year I learned lots throughout grade 9. I had many fun projects but also a lot of challenging ones. this year pushed me to a harder working student with many more tests and assignments than my past years. one of my stretches coming into this year was English, my grammar had been very poor I my writing skills were non detailed and uninteresting. I overcame this challenge by reading other people’s story’s/books. I would say my writing skills have improved dramatically and am going to continue practicing. this year I’ve participated in the soccer program which helped gain skill I’m soccer but also made me a lot of new friends. we were knocked out in the second round of playoffs, but I still had an amazing time.

Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
