Reflecting on My First Year

My Grade 9 Year

This year, I am most proud of how excellent my grades were in the first semester and how quickly I settled into the school making it comfortable and safe in my eyes. Some words that described my year are adapting, grinding, easygoing and fun. This year I learned a lot about Centennial’s school history and the complete layout of the entire school and schoolyard. This year I realized I work best when working alone because for many of my classes I did not so well working in groups with people i don’t know. This year I enjoyed the different activities provided in electives such as Power Technology. I liked how much stuff you could make and get to keep and there was always something more to do. My strengths this year are writing, math, sports and doing well in my classes.

My Favorite website

https://zbib.org

I chose this website because it was very helpful and made my life easier. Zbib.org has to be one of the most useful sites I discovered this year so far because it makes citing my sources from a wide range of classes so simple and extremely fast. I’ve used Zbib.org countless of times for any projects with the requirements of citing my sources (even this one) and always scored a high mark, thus making Zbib.org my favorite website this school year.

My Favorite Video

I chose to share this video because it helped me a lot about understanding the French Revolution in Social Studies. At the start of learning the French Revolution I truly struggled in understanding what was going on until my teacher showed us this video, which shows and describes everything you need to know about the French Revolution.

My Favorite Image

I chose this image because I saw it and deeply connected with it and wanted to share. I connected with this image and really thought deep about what it really meant and I came up with, the books being the years you must do in high school and the last book being graduating. As you can see the last book has a figure on top with a graduation cap and I thought that would be students after high school.

My Favorite Quote

I chose this quote and wanted to share it because it helped me a lot throughout the year. This quote is extremely powerful because many times in the past I had given up and became very frustrated but keeping this quote in the back of my head really helped me get through tough times.
