Career Interview Project

Who did you interview? What is their role or position? What did you find helpful and/or interesting? What was your BEST question? What was surprising or disappointing?

For this assignment I interviewed my Physiotherapist. I met him because he went to high school with my dad. He has been involved in Physiotherapy every since he left high school. He’s had his ups and downs with this career but he has stuck through. I found this very helpful because he answered all my questions in depth. The interesting part was that he said he didn’t want to be a physiotherapist, but he had to do it as a job, and he has liked it ever since.  My best question that I asked was “What the shape of his day looks like as a Physiotherapist” because it gave me the most information and knowledge about this job. It was surprising that he said you can work on your own schedule, and you plan who you want to work with and who you don’t want to.

  1. How are YOU feeling about this career for yourself? What would you still like or need to find out?

I am feeling like I am starting to like this career more and more. I would definitely like to look at actually becoming a professional Physical Therapist after high school. But I would for sure have to look in depth about the side effects and bad things about becoming a physiotherapist.

Reflection

I think having a digital footprint and posting on social media can be good and bad. It can let college recruiters see that you car and are actively on social media. It will always show college recruiters all the nice things you do but it will also show all the bad things you share. If you accidentally share something that you weren’t supposed to that could ruin your career.

Core Competency Reflection

  • I can analyze evidence to make judgements. I chose this core competency because I have to analyze what’s given to me to come up with a final product
  • I can reflect on my thinking. I chose this core competency because I have had to reflect on my thinking while making this edublog
  • I can identify my strengths and identify my potential. I chose this core competency because during this edublog I realized making edublogs is not my strength.
  • I can advocate for myself. I chose this core competency because I have had to speak for myself and do my work
  • A goal I have is to work on making edublogs. I can work to that goal by completing more edublogs and posting more.
