Inspirations:
The very first time my curiosity sparked in the language was when I heard my relatives speaking Japanese. I was intrigued by the language so, on my own time I learned more about the culture and language. While researching I found out about how beautiful the architecture is and how advanced the technology is in japan. upon learning about this, I had a new found respect for the country.
Goals:
With my new language skills, I hope to read and understand oral forms of the language to a degree. So if I go on a trip to Japan with relatives, I’m not completely reliant on them for translations. Maybe one day going without relatives and being the translator for friends.
Motivation:
My motivations for learning Japanese is using it as a gateway language to learn Cantonese or Mandarin. As both my grandparents speak Cantonese and Mandarin as their first language, so I can communicate with them in their preferred language. Also the ability to communicate with someone who has a difficulty speaking English seems really helpful to people around me.
