When I am feeling anxious about a test, I can calm myself by not thinking about the test and do something else to forget about the test.
When I make mistakes, I don’t beat myself up. Instead tell my self that one mistake would not matter later into the future.
When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I would take a break. For example, getting snacks and go on my phone to clear my mind and try again.
When I get stuck on a problem, I have strategies for what to do next. They include first, try working on any other work that I have and take a break from working.
1. What about the last concert/performance are you proud of? Why are you proud of this?
Something that I am proud of is that I was able to like 90% of the notes and rhythms.
2. If you could change or fix one thing about your performance, what would it be? What would you improve?
Something I would improve for the next concert is to play the first note of the piece correct and on beat one. For example on Blue Mambo, when I played on the first beat it sounded off and took me a beat or two to fix it. Next concert if I play on the first beat, I want to be able to play it right away.
3. Please write a few sentences to describe your performance at our concert.
My performance at our concert was average in my opinion. I did not make that many mistakes and most of it was correct not perfect, but I was still able to play basically all the notes. However I still had trouble playing the higher notes.
4.In a few sentences, please describe how this past year has gone for you in band. How have you improved on your instrument and what would you like to continue to improve on?
My past year has gone pretty good. I have gotten better by being able to play more complexed rhythms and been able to play more consistently high notes. I also learned more fingering for flats and sharps. Something I would like to improve on is to first get better at playing higher notes. I have gotten better in the past year but there is still a lot of room to improve in.
· Some ways that I can improve my work habits for next year in Social Studies 10 are to start doing homework and projects earlier and not leaving them to the final days before they are due.
· Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in during group work where I can give my own option and idea’s. I could also build of other people’s idea to make new ones.
· Some of the ways I work to build and maintain school relationships are that I can listen to people idea’s and help them out if needed.
· Some work habits that worked well for me this semester in Social Studies 9 were that sometimes if I needed more time to finish work I would book flex and work on it.
Goal
A goal I have for next year is to start working on my homework or projects right when I get them and not leave them to the last day or two. This is important because if I finish early I could work on editing and improving it.
I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others.
I demonstrated this core competency by starting with a small idea then keep adding to it and changing it to form new ideas. Also, I got inspiration from others and builded off their ideas.

I demonstrated this core competency when I had trouble thinking of ideas and what writing to use in the storyboard. I eventually thought of something after trying multiple times.

I demonstrated this core competency when I tried to write a story panel, but after rereading it did not make sense to I tried again but used the ideas I already had and added more to them.

AI assisted me by giving quick answers to questions I had and gave me access to websites I could find more information on.

I got ideas from AI, but used the links provided to research more information.

I do agree with the position I had to argue. I think this because I was arguing that violence is justified in a revolution and I believe that some violence is good but not a lot of it.
Core Competency Reflection
When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I first try to get to know them a little bit, but when we are working I would let them do their thing and not ry to bother them to much. I would also check on their work sometimes.
One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to first ask them if they understand what to do then let them work a little bit. After, I would check back on what they are doing to see if it’s correct.
In my grade 9 year I enjoyed making new friends and see old ones. It was a fun experience exploring a new school. A challenged I overcame this year was I had to figure out my way around a new school, learning new teachers, and being able to do more work and homework. Something I am still working on is to not leave my work to the last day and start working on the project or assignment before hand.

My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include to first find a topic that I want information for and then find trustable sources to research from. If I run out of things to learn from a source I would find a new site to research from.
This is how I select images and words to create impact for different audiences. I would find simple pictures and information so people could understand. The images should also provide the correct amount of information to not overwhelm the audience.
A goal I have for myself going forward is to speak more in front of the class. Something I intend to work on is to try to practice more at home.
Something in this poem that I would like to continue doing is to pick topics I can relate to. I showed this in this poem why uses the example of retaking a test because i have retaken a test to get a better grade. Something I want to improve on is to add different things to my voice like pauses and speeding up. I want to improve on this because when I was presenting I wanted to add pauses but got nervous and forgot to.

What will be one or two of your top priorities in the coming weeks for these last few assignments we will be doing in English 9? Think not only about the finished product of your work, but also about the process you will use or change when you approach these assignments.
Some priorities I have for the next coming weeks is to first not leave my work to the last minute. Sometimes when I have a few day project, I would not work on it until the last day. This is bad because if I do the work at the last minute, I would not have time to edit the work. Another priority I have is to spend more time on my work rather then on doing less important stuff.
a. Which advertising technique did you choose and how did you use that technique to create your poster?
One of the techniques I used is “special offer.” I added a neon red and blue 50% off sign in the top right corner of the advertisement. Another technique I used is “plain folk.” I inserted an image of an excited child eating pizza in the top left corner of the poster and another image of an excited middle aged man eating pizza as well. The last technique I used is “glittering generalities.” I placed the words “ flavourful, mouthwatering, stringy, drippy, and cheesy” from top to bottom in the middle of the poster in the form of a list.
b. Explain how and why you chose the colours, words, background, etc. that you used to make your advertisement.
I used a neon red and blue sign because it pops out from the black background. The font for the 50% is bigger than the other words so it catches the customer’s attention first. The other words are also big but not as big as the 50%. The words need to be big too so people can read them easily. I used non-celebrity in the advertisement so average customers could relate to the people eating. It shows them that the pizza is not just for celebrities but for any normal person. The people are excited and smiling, which shows people that they enjoy it, implying that it tastes good. The words “flavourful, mouthwatering, stringy, drippy, and cheesy” are color coded to be like a pizza and they also contrast with the background. The word “flavourful” is brown like the crust, and the rest of the words are yellow and red to represent the cheese and sauce. I used these words to give general details that sound good but do not mean anything specific.
c. What do you think others who aren’t in your class should know about advertising?
Advertisements are used to trick people into buying products that they may not need.

That technology is very harmful to humans but could be very useful if used correctly.
