Creating a Positive Digital Footprint
Personal/Social Competency Reflection
I know that my digital footprint has positive consequences like getting my name out to possible jobs and other important people that I might need in my life. But, with positives come negatives, some negatives include strangers with bad intentions knowing things about me or seeing pictures of me and even putting a spin on what I say to make me look bad. That’s why I know who my followers are and only post things that I wouldn’t mind my family and possible employers seeing.
My long term goal is to make I difference in peoples lives if that means making them laugh or just having a little chat with them online of course this will be when I’m older and have a little more experience to share. I can do this by making a YouTube channel perhaps or an account on what ever app is popular at the time. My short term goal is to keep my account positive and safe space for everyone who follows me. I can try to achieve this by removing negative comments from my posts or maybe having a little chat with the person who was being negative to check in with them and see if something was bothering them to the point they were being negative.
My main strategy to keep a good presence online is to keep things positive. I believe that keeping things positive online can really help others feel better about themselves. Another strategy I like to use to have a healthy experience online is to know who my followers are and I also try to stay away from talking to strangers.
