Budgeting For a Special Day

I am planning a special day for the best person who tolerate me for almost 15 years, my mother. I want to make this special day on April 19 because it is my birthday, and I want to thank her for giving me life and raising me as best as she could.

7.45 – fitness session for my mother.

10.45 – going the bowling zone on a car.

11.45 – getting sushi from “I Love Sushi” (Awesome Party A).

12.45 – going to Costco and getting fries and flowers.

14.00 – going home and giving my mom all the presents and candies

19.30 – getting cake from save on food and going to Lafarge Lake Park for a walk and finishing the day

Analysis:

  1. How much did you end up spending on your special day?
  2. What percentage of total budget did you end up spending?
  3. What might you have done differently if you only had budged of $100?
  4. What might you have done differently if you had a budged of $500

Overall, on the special day with my mom I spend $295.78 dollars including tax, in percentage it will be approximately 98.6%. If my budget was $100, I would concentrate on things that my mom will truly love, like bowling or sweets, maybe I would buy less pricy flowers and would cut some of the gifts. If my budget was 500 dollars I would take my mom to some fancy restaurant, maybe get her some beautiful jewelry, also she really likes buying new shoes so I would take her to the store where she buys then often.

Personal/Social Core Competencies

Why did I choose this specific person? Why do you believe they deserve to be celebrated?

I choose my mom because she is the closest person I have in my life. I believe she should be celebrated because she was supporting me throughout all my life, supported me in every each in of my starts. She worked really hard to give me a great life and give me everything I need. She was the best person in my life I know no other one who would deserve it more than her.

Why did you choose to spend you budget the way you did? How did your values influence your decisions?

I tried to use my budget as responsible as possible, I wanted to make the money worth but made it that my mom would also love that. I used to spend my money responsible and to find the best deal. I don’t usually like to spend a lot of money on gifts because it makes me feel anxious, even if it theoretical, but i tried my best to do a list of something my mom would like because she deserved it.

My First Year

My Grade 9 Year

This year I learned a lot about science; it was extremely hard to understand that at first because of my lack of understanding English but with some additional support from my tutor and YouTube videos I managed not only get a good mark on science but also get even more interested in the biology and chemistry. Also, this year I reached a goal of becoming a hard-working student. I was preparing to every assignment and every test that I had on every subject very hard and almost always got a great mark. Throughout the semester I had some difficulties in learning, but in those moments, I was not afraid to ask my classmates or teachers for a little help and it helped me a lot. I am most proud of my work on my ELL classes, I was scared at first because I was not confident in my abilities but when I realized that no one would make fun of me because of my English I relaxed and instead of compressing myself to other I just did my best.

A Useful Educational Website

https://phet.colorado.edu/en

This website is very useful for learning science. It has a lot of simulators that you can practice and learn physics, biology or chemistry. It was useful back then when I was learning about electric circuit, it helped me to understand basic concepts of how it works.

A Useful Educational Video

I found this movie on the YouTube very helpful when I got to do causes of Franch Revolution quiz on my socials. It helped me a lot, I remembered a bunch of important events and reasons why revolution happened at that time. Not only it was helpful for my education, but also it was interesting to watch. I think it is a great video for someone who wants to learn more about Louis XVI or the Franch government.

A Useful Educational Image

This is a diagram of Franch feudal system, and it was helpful when I get to learn about causes of Franch revolution on my social studies this semester. It not only shows all the important names of people in this system but also shows how everything was ordered.

An Inspiring Quote

“It is always very difficult to go against the wind, and to stand up straight and say no when the easier path is to give in and go in the direction of the wind.” – Elijah Harper, Canadian first indigenous politic.

I chose this quote because it inspires me to keep working hard and do my best even though not everything is always great. Also, I like this quote because of the history of the person behind it. Elijah was working hard to make people equal in Canada and because of this I want to work more to reach my goals.

Science 9 – Physics Unit

Physics – What I Learned

Core Competency Reflection

  1. Topics or concepts for which I can offer detailed feedback or analysis include…

I can offer detailed analysis of almost any topic out of what I had learned in this unit. I can explain what a is circuit and make one, after the practice in lab, I can offer an explanation what is a parallel circuit or series circuit and show how they work. I learned a lot about different types of energy sources in this class, the different advantages and the disadvantages connected with them. For example, Solar energy uses panels to transform sun light into energy, it is a renewable energy source, but the problem is that is there is not enough sun light to energy will simply not produce. Similar problem with wind power, wind turbine transforms wind blow into energy but if there is not enough wind it will not work. Nuclear energy does not have such a problem, it always works even if there is no sun or wind, it uses nuclear fuel to split atoms and use it to produce energy. the main problem it the nuclear power is dangerous because of radiation. So, consider everything what I said about I want to say that I learned a lot a science 9 class this semester, I learned about charges, energy sources and a lot more but other than this I learned how to analysis things, how to give feedback on things and to think critically.

An example of something I have spent a lot of time learning about is…

I spend a lot of time trying to work on my understanding of Ohm’s Law. I learned V=I⋅R, so V stands for voltage and measures in volts, I stands for current, measures in amperes and the last but not least, R stands for resistance and measures in ohms. Besides this I spend some time on remembering formulas to find current and resistance. To find current you need to use I=V/R, and to find resistance you need R=V/I. That’s not the only thing I spend a lot of time on, a good among of time I spend on learning difference between insulators and conductors. It took me a while until I finally understand the difference between them and remembered what kind of objects considered insulators or conductors. Conductors are materials that let electrons flow through it easily, some of those materials are copper, silver, graphite and a lot of other different metals. Insulators is an opposite of the conductors; electrons cannot flow through them. Some examples of insulator are glass, plastic, oil, rubber and etc. I spent a lot of time on each topic in science but those two were hardest for me to remember so I spent a lot of time on them, but I think my hard work will be worth it in the future.

Goal

My goal for the next year in science is to learn more about physics. I am going to be way better listener then I was before this year, my goal is to get a proficient or even extending in science and especially in physics. I am dreaming of having a great knowledge about it so I can learn engineering and be able to fix electronics in my house by myself.
