What you did well and how you can improve your Japanese study habits:

In Japanese 11, I worked well with others. In assignments such as script writing, or posters, I contributed well to my groups.

To improve my study habits for next time, I would procrastinate less, and not leave everything to the last minute. I would also revise more, perhaps writing out vocab and grammar points again to help me remember.

Core Competencies

An example of something I have spent a lot of time learning about is the final project, as I had to review past grammar points, and integrate them into my sentences. I also tried to use vocab that we learnt in the past.

I have valuable ideas to share about how I think a project should look like and do so by communicating with my peers my vision for the project.

I appreciate feedback on how I can improve and prefer it comes in the form of constructive criticism, allowing me to learn from my mistakes.

How will you continue your Japanese language acquisition over the year?

I will continue to learn about Japanese by watching Japanese TV shows and movies, and reading manga in Japanese. I will also try to take the time to try and read social media posts I see in Japanese.

If you could travel back in time, what study/language advice would you give yourself or others?

Advice I’d give is to study vocab at least a week in advanced. You cannot learn a lot of vocab words overnight, so procrastinating studying is a bad habit to get into. Utilize the Quizlet flashcards that Ms. Illing posts, as they are extremely helpful. Also, translate the sentences she puts on the board for extra practice with the grammar points.
