Logarithmic Word Problems – In-class Board Questions

Collaboration

I contribute during group activities with peers and share roles and responsibilities to achieve goals.

For in-class board problems such as these logarithmic word problems, we were to work collaboratively with our other desk group members. Since three people were in my group, including myself, we split the tasks evenly. One person used their laptop to look at the problem, another used their iPad to look at their notes, and I wrote the work on the board; all three of us worked together to solve the problems that were given to us.

The process of solving these questions included finding the equation for the specific type of question, referencing the notes to find out how to solve the equation using logarithms, then comparing our answer to other groups in the class. By doing this, we were able to accurately answer the questions, learning about the process along the way; this helped us greatly in studying for the formative assessment and unit test.
