I am proud of my children’s book presentation that I did in English 10. We had to pick a children’s book about a social issue and analyze how it conveys its meaning through images and language. We also had to discuss how the issue is still relevant in today’s world. The book I chose was called Dark Cloud, by Anna Lazowski. I am proud of how I analyzed the details of the book and also the quality of my presentation and I think I did well.

In English 10, I learned how to analyze poetry. We had an entire unit dedicated to poetic devices, themes, and how to analyze them in poems. We looked at many poems and learned how to write a paragraph about a poem using proper style. We wrote paragraphs analyzing the poetic devices and themes present. At the end of the unit, we chose our own poem to write about, as well as doing research about the poet and discussing what the poem meant to us.
