My Grade 9 Year

Looking back at my year, I’m really happy with how everything turned out. I learned a lot of stuff. But not just academic stuff; I learned a lot about myself and the people around me. I’ve made lots of new friends and connections and memories and I’ve been able to stay in touch with many old friends as well. I’m so lucky to have been given the opportunity to have so many great experiences at Centennial. I won’t forget my first year soon and I can’t wait to see what happens next year.

Microsoft Office 365 is no doubt my most used website. Basically, every project or assignment that I’ve ever worked on is in Microsoft office. It’s just so easy to use and it’s easy to keep all my work organized. One website where I can access every document, presentation, class note, teams page, class assignment, spreadsheet or email that I have ever worked on. Why wouldn’t it be my favourite website? To be fair I also use the app sometimes but it’s basically the exact same thing. I expect that Microsoft Office 365 will most likely continue to be my favorite and most used app/website for many years to come.

My Favourite Video

During first semester this year, in my science class we watched a documentary called Chasing Coral. The documentary is about the declining population of coral on earth. Its purpose is to expose the public to the detrimental effects of global warming on our oceans. Not only does it bring up a lot of important issues like the mass coral bleaching events that are going on in our oceans and how that could eventually lead to the collapse of an entire ecosystem altogether, but it also opens the world up to the more direct and fast-paced effects that global warming has and will continue to have on our planet. In addition, the cinematography in this documentary is absolutely stunning and the shots that they use in the movie are just insane. It’s a great documentary and I’m always interested to watch anything that involves the ocean. I’d definitely recommend it.

My Favourite Image

For my favourite photo I decided to go with this one. It’s a photo taken seconds after we won a really important game. If I remember correctly, this was when we won the game that put us as one of the two best teams in the district. I remember that the stakes were really high because if we didn’t win then our season would have ended after that game so it was a really important moment. I’m really proud of how far our volleyball team got this year. We finished second in the district which is something to be proud of. We all worked really hard and had a lot of fun and made some really cool memories during the season. I hope that that’s the story next season as well.

My Favourite Quote

Any time anyone asks me for my favorite quote it’s always a quote from The Office TV series. I chose this particular quote because it was funny and Dwight is one of my favourite characters. I like watching The Office whenever I’m having a bad day because it makes me laugh. Quotes from The Office are just better than any other quote anyone could ever find. There’s just no debate. The Office quotes are top tier. End of story.
