My First Year

My grade 9 year has been challenging yet rewarding. Before starting my first year of high school, I was super exited for all the new things to come, and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed meeting new people and creating new connections, as well as all the sports and opportunities the school had to offer. I took advantage of the athletics and played on the Senior Volleyball team. I had so much fun playing with the older girls, including my sister, and I feel I grew a lot as a player. During my first semester, I found school fairly easy as my courses where not too challenging, but my second semester has been more of a struggle. I have noticed that there is not as much work that I was expecting, but much more than previous years. Although those points challenge me, I still have had a positive experience at Centennial and I am exited for my next three years!

The reason I chose this website is it was extremely helpful during Math. During semester one, my math teacher allowed us to use the website Desmos. This website allows you to type in complicated math questions, including graphing, and it will give you an accurate answer. I found it very helpful when I was struggling with tricky math equations, and I liked how diverse it was. I think I found it it the most useful during my graphing unit because that was the most challenging for me, and Desmos allowed me to understand it better.

The reason I chose this video is because it helped me learn my Spanish alphabet. This was my first quiz during Spanish 9, and this video helped me prepare for it. I liked the song and the little dog named Cosmo.

I chose this image is because it was my favourite meal I made during Food Studies 10. The photo above displays Chicken Souvlaki, Greek Rice, homemade Tzatziki and some Cherry Tomatoes. I made this meal during semester one with my foods group. It was fun to make and it tasted amazing!

The reason I chose this quote is Dr Seuss was a big part of my childhood, and his quotes are very wise. In this quote, he is saying that the more education that you have, the farther in life you can go. I like this quote because it encourage people to succeed in school and have a bright future.
