Collaborating – I can apply constructive strategies to navigate misunderstandings and conflicts.

Final Result of Sadie and my titration lab.
I demonstrated communication and created strategies to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts during our titration lab through swapping roles and providing feedback. During my partner’s and my first titration trial, she was responsible for dropping the acid into the base, and I was responsible for mixing the solution. She quickly added to the solution, and seemed to slip, which caused too much base, ruining our trial. We both agreed that we should switch roles, as I had a steadier hand. Neither of us got offended or upset about the role swap, as we both communicated clearly and agreed that it would allow us to be more successful. After the switch, our second, third and fourth trials were complete, and our solutions were titrated correctly. Throughout the lab, Sadie and I communicated with each other, agreeing when to add acid and when to stop, making sure we were on the same page. I also feel that because Sadie and I are friends outside of class, we can take criticism and suggestions from each other during labs without getting hurt or offended, which makes us the perfect lab partners!
