When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I always try to remove any distractions. I would say that my biggest distraction would be my phone. When I am trying to do my homework with my phone beside me, I tend to reach for it quite frequently, then end up not doing the task at hand. Something that helps me focus better is music. I find that it makes me want to do my work more because I enjoy listening to music so I guess it motivates me.
The ways I communicate at school differ to how I communicate at volleyball in these ways. The first one is how I speak. During volleyball, the number one most important thing is talking and communicating with each other, which also applies to doing group work. Although communication is key, the ways we talk to each other is very different. Like in volleyball, I am more loud and I am almost telling my teammates what to do, as in group work, I make sure to listen to my peers ideas, and then apply them to the project. During group work, it is always most important to communicate with your partner/partners so that you on the same page throughout the assignment.
A goal that I have moving forward is to be more involved in classroom conversations. I set this as my goal because I feel like when I am engaged in the conversations I have a more clear understanding of the lesson. When I ask questions it makes me feel more prepared moving forward.
