CPR Reflection
The 4 R’s. of the CPR & AED program is Risk, Recognise, React and Resuscitate. Risk is the factor of your life of developing a heart disease or a stroke; Recognise is how to recognise the situation in an emergency; React is what to do in an emergency; Resuscitate how to help other by perfuming CPR, using an AED and help when someone is choking.
This is important since knowing the 4R’s when an emergency occurs, can help you safe a life. With this knowledge moving forward in life, if anything happens you are able to give the best chance of survival for the person who is at risk. This can help you to stay calm when performing a CPR, calling 911 and using an AED, until the Emergency Medical Service person takes over.
Core Competency Reflection
One of the ways I ensure my partner is clear on what we are supposed to do is by giving a clear and loud instructions. For example when practicing CPR, I am able to tell my partner to check for hazard, call 911 and get the AED. With the loud and clear voice both of us are able to stay clam and knowing what to do, without misunderstanding such as wrong placement of the AED or forgetting to call 911.
