My communication skills with this project were good, me and my partner organized our work together. We both listened to one another’s ideas, and we managed our time so we would both have all our work done before the due date. Creative thinking was important in this project, we both expanded on one another’s ideas to make the project better. We both helped one another if any of us were stuck and didn’t know what to do, and we gave one another ideas on what to do. For personal social skills, we both talk to one another, and made sure we were both doing the topics that we were best at.
“Are human beings inherently good or evil”. I think throughout the play there is a lot of evil. in this play it affected my view on the world and society because it made me realize even tough someone did something bad to you, does not mean you need revenge. When Prospero was sent to sea on the boat with his child, I do not think it was fair many years later for him to get revenge and make everyone think their children, family, and friends were dead. Although it was good when Prospero approved of his daughter to be with Fernand. This was good because it would bring peace back to everyone and let them be together after Fernand did all the work to please Prospero. This has affected my view on society because even though someone did something bad to you, you can always find a way for peace again, and in this situation, it is Fernand and Miranda
There are many examples within Canada that illustrate racism in Canadian society. Canada has always had racism in its past. We know this because Canada has struggled with residential schools, and the railroad. I didn’t think racism was as big as a problem now then it was then, till the current racist attacks have happened. Its still a current problem as we discovered the graves of the Younge indigenous children, in Ontario a Muslim family was taking a walk and were then later ran over by a truck because of there race, and a few years ago in Quebec someone shot up the Mosque. After reading in the heat of the night, it really opened my eyes on the topic of racism. Because of reading in the heat of the night, I have a better view of how racism affects many induvial. It affected my view, because racism is a sensitive topic and how people treat other people based of there skin is hurtful, not just on them but their families and their community. This book really made me realize that Virgil is a strong man when he experiences racism towards him and made me realize that some of the things said made me feel uncomfortable to have to hear and listen to. After reading this novel I can now see how much Canadian society is still struggling with racism in many ways.

Social media and online platforms are very useful, but also very harmful. Many people face bullying, hate comments, and group mentality, which is why online safety is important. Being safe online consist of keeping your information off line, and keeping your accounts private. When online you have to remember that what you put out there is hard to remove. Before you post you should think, will it be ok if my parents see this, if my teacher sees this, if my future boss sees this? You should always be thinking of this, and what you are posting, if it could effect others? If the answer is yes to these questions, you should think again about posting it or to post it to my eyes only. When your online, don’t talk to people you don’t know personally, as many people pretend to be someone they aren’t. not talking to strangers keeps one less person from finding out information about you. Being safe online is one of the biggest things right now, so be smart and think smart.
Personal/Social Competency Reflection
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including the positives like, being able to promote a business, get support from online groups, or to even promote yourself. Although there are many negative things like, misleading information, fake news, or others bullying people online. So I adjust my actions to keep my accounts private, never post things about others, and research to see if the information I see is true.
My online support network is helpful to me because they can help you figure out problems and answer questions you may have.
I make digital ethical choices such as not lying about myself or others in order to be responsible and do the right thing.

Reflection On Collaboration And Conflict Resolution

Addressing Core Competencies:

Five of the most common to approaches to resolving conflicts are as follows:
1. Avoiding – Someone who uses a strategy of “avoiding” mostly tries to ignore or sidestep the conflict, hoping it will resolve itself or dissipate.
2. Accommodating – Using the strategy of “accommodating” to resolve conflict essentially involves taking steps to satisfy the other party’s concerns or demands at the expense of your own needs or desires.
3. Compromising – The strategy of “compromising” involves finding an acceptable resolution that will partly, but not entirely, satisfy the concerns of all parties involved.
4. Competing – Someone who uses the conflict resolution strategy of “competing” tries to satisfy their own desires at the expense of the other parties involved.

In The Heat Of The Night is full of many clues for the reader to figure out what is going on within the novel. There were many examples within the novel, that helped me figure out what Bill Gillespie’s appearance may be. In the novel on page 11, where it describes his age and a few of his physical appearances. I determine the setting was in 1960-70s USA because in the book it gives us details about the racism and where its located. The swear words within the book show us that it takes place in a older era. The mood within the book shows anger, and lots of racism. It showed racism when many hurtful words are directed at Virgil. I used my critical thinking skills I was able to put together the puzzle the author left.
Core Competency Reflection
I show others that I truly value their contributions by making sure I take every ones ideas and that we included every ones ideas and information. I also make sure that before adding to the project that everyone agrees with what is being added.
I respectfully advocate for my needs by asking for help and seeking help when needed, I use my LEC block to get help, I talk to my group members on our group chat asking a question I may have, and asking the teacher in class and outside of class of any questions I may have about the project.
If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to see what the issue is and see if there’s a good solution we all agree on.
I notice when people feel left out, I make sure they feel included by asking them there onions on the project and there ideas for it.
Who will make dinner, when it will be, and how it will work around the family of 4 busy schedule. The family needs help to find out what dinner will look like for week days.

A new recipe – pasta with meatballs
Ingredients for Meatballs (makes 22-23 meatballs):
3 slices of white bread, (crusts removed), diced or torn to pieces
2/3 cup chilly water
1 Lb lean ground beef, (7%-15% fat)
1 Lb Sweet Ground Italian sausage, casings removed
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese, plus more to serve
I think each part of our plan will work well because we have made sure that we were picking who was home first and making sure there was more than enough time to make dinner, and that we gave them a Varity of food during the week.
Monday- Parent A will be cooking, and will be cooking ginger glazed salmon. Dinner will be at 5:30, it makes 4 servings and takes 20 minutes to work.
Tuesday- Parent B is cooking today and is making vegetable pad thai. Dinner will be at 5:30 and makes 6 servings and with the two spare servings it will be the parent lunch. It takes 35 minutes to cook this meal.
Wednesday- Teen 1 is cooking chicken noodle soup, dinner will be at 6:00 and makes 6 servings, the other two the kids will take to school. It takes 45 minutes to cook.
Thursday- Parent A is cooking black bean taco, dinner will be between the times 5:20-5:40. We will be making the whole me which takes 15 minutes.
Friday- Parent A and Teen 2 are cooking tonight, they are making spaghetti and meat balls. Dinner will take around 45 minutes, and they will make half of the meal, they will also have dinner around 5:45.
We used our phones to talk outside of school about our project and shared a word document where we all had access to work online for it.
We sent out shared word document, Edublog, and we also used snap to communicate. We were all familiar with technology and I’ve been using my technology to finish my work in class.
We distributed tasks based on days of the week for finding what days who will cook, what they will make, and what time. We had 2 people make the chart and we also had 2 people make sure everything was completed. We picked who did each thing by picking who would do each task to the best we can.
I typed out work, answering questions, making the chart with one other group member, and making sure that everyone in the family cooked a meal, they had a different meal each day, and that the times worked right, I did this with 2 other people in my group.
I’m Mackenzie, I used to do gymnastics and now do cheer again, I did cheer for 4-5 years and I did competitive cheer for 6 years, I am now on the cent cheer team. I have a brother named Derek, and a cat named Nacho, my cat is a big orange cat that’s kind of fat and fluffy, and I like to be around my cat. I like to hang with my friends, Kyla, Mica, Lochlan, Isabella, Krista, and Aunjali. We like to go to the mall or my house. I like to spend my spare time on my phone with my cat or with friends. Some words that describe me are, short, out going, and I put effort into things. Some things you may want to know about me are, I’m in grade 9, and I like music. Some goals I have for myself is to try hard in my classes and to not fail any. I learn best when I try, and ask for help, it helps me because when I don’t try I don’t care or ask for help. I like to express myself by talking to friends. I think the best way for me to show you what I know is through creative ways instead of writing about it. When I have difficulties with something I normally ask for help. My strength’s are being able to meet new people and being athletic. My stretches are showing my work and extending my work to the best it can be. My best courses are probably welding/wood because I like wood working and I’m happy to try welding.
I chose this website because, I love Shein. Shein is a good clothing store for super cheap, and is somewhat good quality. I like to buy my clothes from here cause I can never find clothes that fit me and here I have found everything is true to size and fits.

This is my favourite video because I like to play fetch with my cat. I like to play fetch with him because I find its funny that my cat is weird and plays fetch. My cat is named nacho, and he’s a big orange cat. I got my cat in march, and we shaved because his fur was nasty. when we shaved him we left fur on the end of his tail and he looked like a fat mini lion. My cat has really big paws and a big head.
