Social Studies 10 Reflection

In this course we covered WW1 ,WW2, and other war related topics surrounding them like flappers and the great depression. I learned about the people who where involved and what there contribution was to these time periods and was able to expand my learning by doing research projects. Along with that I also learned how the people involved in the issues felt and what they where going through, making me think more about the hardships of the past.

Core competency reflection

I can examine and evaluate to improve my own work; an example of this was my inquiry project. while I was doing my project i had to evaluate my work to find out what pieces of information where important and needed to be shared, so i could make a good and informative presentation without having it be boring.

I gather and synthesize information to develop logical conclusions, I did this when I did my great depression unit test where i gathered all of the information i knew about the topic and concluded with a great end paragraph concluding what i knew into a first person story putting myself in the shoes of someone living in that time.

Core competency reflection

When I need to boost my mood, or re-focus I… Take a break ether by taking a short brain break outside of the class, or put on music so I can block out noises of the background noises.

Some of the ways I work to build and maintain relationships are… working through problems that I have with that person, and try my best to be there for them, and spend time with them whenever I am able too.

core competency reflection

i can understand and share information on a topic of interest in a clear, and organized way. i showed this by taking my chosen topic and looking into the culture of that country, then splitting it up into several sections and presenting them all in a short and easy to follow way.

i understand that my identity is made up of many interconnected elements. i find this in myself but also in the things around me. if i had never researched this country i would have never realized all the important parts of its culture and how they shaped it into the country it is today.

i advocate for myself. this was shown whenever there was something i needed, i wouldn’t try to go without it. i always let people know what i needed and when i needed it by so i could be more efficient and take charge in my project.

i recognize my emotions and use strategies to help them. this was a common thing i had ti do whenever i got stressed with finishing this project on time. i was able to stop, take a deep breath, and recollect myself so i could do everything to the best of my ability.

my goal for next time is to now wait till the last minuet to do things. i can do this by making sure i start on things the day there assigned so i know its something i need to get done, i can also set reminders for when the project is due so i avoid leaving it.
