My Digital Footprint: Keeping Myself Safe

Creating a Positive and Safe Digital Enviroment

Online Safety

The internet has a plethora of information. It can help us connect with others or can help us find answers to our questions, but it can also be dangerous. To be safe on the internet we need to know how to stay safe. How can we do that and what does it mean to be safe online?

An important reason why we need to be online safe is because we want to avoid someone stealing our personal data. The number of cyber-attacks is increasing every day and we don’t want to be victims of these attacks.

If we fail to keep our personal information safe there can be many risks. For example, if you were to post something personal publicly online, people you don’t know might use that to track you down or steal your information. Also, you should never click on a link you are unsure of, especially if it’s from someone you don’t in real life.

There are many ways to be safe online. For example, to keep your information safe online you need to have a strong and protected password. Make sure it is something you can remember as well. You should also have different passwords for all your accounts. You also should change your passwords regularly and never share them to anybody.

The internet can be a place to explore many things but to do that we need to be safe. We need to be safe because our personal information can be stolen. We need to keep our passwords strong and to change it regularly. If we do some of these things, we have a higher chance to be safe.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection

Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include posting posts that don’t have anything that makes me bad.

Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are keeping those ones up to date o. the things I do but not to share too much information.

By doing positive things and saying encouraging messages online, I make a positive difference to my peers.
