My Artifact: Storytelling Concept Map

Curricular Competencies Reflection

Comprehend & Connect: In this assignment I was able to learn how to connect the stories I have read to one another. I was able to analyze different stories to each other and compare and contrast their messages and characters. This will help me see stories differently and in a new perspective furthering my understanding of Indigenous knowledge.

Core Competencies Reflection

Thinking CC: I was able to use evidence to make judgements or decisions as demonstrated in this project. From the evidence gathered I made the decision on how to connect points that may have looked different into making a variety of sources connect to one point. Looking at different stories helped me learn new information that might have been missed in the other stories. I would improve my points by connecting and analyzing deeper instead of surface level points.

How did the reality of the courtroom compare to your expectations?

Going into the field trip I knew that the courtroom experience was not going to be the same as something from a show or game. However, when going into it and sitting in it was different from what i imagined. It was very procedural and everyone in that courtroom understood and completed their jobs fully. The Crown Prosecutor unstood the material they were saying, the judge took note of the charges and the sheriff assisted when needed. Overall the experince of a real courtroom was vastly different from my expectations.

I can gather and combine new evidence with what I already know to develop reasoned conclusions, judgments, or plans

From my past experience and things that I learned from this class so far I could almost follow with the court prcedures. I was able to look back on my past knowledge to develop conclusions on how the matter in the courtroom was going to resolve. My learning and experiences helped me on the courthouse field trip.
