The part of unit 1 that I am most comfortable was BEDMAS because my grade 7 and 8 class did a lot of review on it and therefor I feel advanced.
The most difficult part of unit 1 was word problems because the math vocabulary is difficult for me and I did not have a lot of experience doing so.
I usually learn new material best when I ask questions and engage in the discussion.
I plan to prepare for the unit test by studying the math vocabulary and the integers and fractions work sheet.

The statement “I persevere with challenging tasks and take ownership of my goals, learning and behavior” means to me, that I don’t give up on challenging math problems and if I get a question wrong or a bad grade on a test then I take ownership of my goals.
In this slide of our monsters presentation we used the text to describe the monsters spicies and a big font so people in the back could see and still learn about the kraken. There are a couple things that my partner and I could have done such as, we could have added another picture of the Kraken and we could have added real squid to the powerpoint so the class would know how people thought they are apart of the same species.

As this assignment was in some ways different from a “typical” assignment for English class, discuss what challenges you faced completing the assignment and how you overcame them.
This assignment was different from a “typical” assignment for English class because we would usually never learn about monsters. We also usually do not get to choose what topic will choose from. Some challenges I faced during this is that my first two monsters already got chosen, so my partner and I had to take time away from working to chose our monster. Another challenge was trying to fit all of our information in the powerpoint slide because we were told to do point form instead of a paragraph.
Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement? Core Competence reflection. Consumers and businesses can develop trust through transparent advertising. The general openness of the marketing process is enhanced by knowing who gains from the advertisement. Companies are probably more trustworthy if they are transparent about their goals and reasons.

Logical because we stated the truth with our price and how our ingredients are made homemade and how we have new ingredients that no other store has

I respectfully advocated for my needs on this project by going for walks and taking mental breaks to re focus myself. I knew my group is working well together when I heard/ saw everyone getting along and staying focused on the topic. I can contribute to and work with criteria to improve my own work; evidence of that is working with partner with sharing and receiving ideas.
A digital footprint is when you post or do anything online, because like a footprint what you do online stays. Three examples of ways to have a good digital footprint and to stay safe online are deactivating old emails, ensuring your account settings remains private and to make sure you are not giving out your personal information. It is important to deactivate old emails because someone may hack into them and send emails or say racist or sexist things or try and scam people for money by impersonating you and trying to get personal information that they can later use to blackmail you into giving them stuff. The use of a private account is important for Tick Tok so that strangers cannot see what you post or try and message you. Disabling location tracking is important because if you have your location turned on for any online platform a stranger could find out what school you go to, where you play your sports, where your friends’ houses, and where you go after school and when you are usually out of the house. Think before you post anything on TikTok you should always take a minute to look over it and make sure that it is not racist, sexist or anything inappropriate, because even if you delete it TikTok still has your video, so it is never actually deleted. This could be a problem later in life when applying for jobs when they do a google search of your name and find this video.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection
While there are some downsides to social media there are a multitude of positive encounters you can have online as well. My values around my lacrosse career help me make decisions about how much time I spend on social media because if I spend too much time prior to a game or a practice it would make me tired and lazy there for effecting my game in a negative way. An example of my strength as a digital citizen includes watching videos on fishing and getting advice and tips on how to become a better fisherman. I really enjoy fishing, so tips are extremely appreciated and help me develop my skill. Some of my strategies to maintain healthy online presents include keeping in touch with close friends and family members. Social media is a great way to keep connected with friends if done safely.
