In this image I am demonstrating the core competency of Thinking: critically and reflectively.

This is an image from the squid dissection lab where I indentified the structures of the squid and removed different part. I began by indentifying the structures located on the outside such as the tentacles, head, eyes, etc. I used critical thinking to determine where the arms were and used a labelled diagram provided by the teacher to identify the more complicated, less obvious structures. I carefully dissected the squid ensuring that I would not destroy any structures I would need to identify and completed my squid identification. I then drew my diagram and labelled it accurately. I am proud of this because I did not know that squids had any specialized organs or shells and figured they were just jelly-like. I learned that squids are more complicated than one might think.
