Core Competency Reflection

My cultural background contributes to who I am as a person in that I live my life using Japanese morals. I am a quieter and more reserved person compared to others because Japan is a society that does not value loud personalities. I used physical symbols to show this, I am wearing a top influenced by kimonos.

One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is drawing. I had the option to use a computer avatar maker to create this costume but I decided that drawing would better express me as a person. Drawing has always been something I am interested in and I am glad I got to express this in my project.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus I listen to music. I listened to music while drawing and writing the written portion of this project. Music helps me to focus on my project and block out outside distractions.

The benefits of my diverse relationships include much exposure to other things. Being friends with diverse people helps me get a different perspective on issues and allows me to be more insightful. Having a diverse range of friends gave me a unique fashion sense and this is reflected in my costume.
