Spanish 10 Core Competency Reflection

My chosen artifact was my protest song group project. Throughout this project, I really got to practice my communication skills by sharing my ideas openly with my partner and making sure to listen carefully to her ideas too. We worked together to plan everything out, deciding who would take charge of which slides and parts of the project so that the work was fair and balanced. Whenever one of us needed help, we supported each other and make sure things got done well. We stayed in communication to keep everything on track and to make sure we were both happy with how things were going. When we had a disagreement about a part of the project, instead of getting upset, we talked it out calmly and found a way to solve it that worked for both of us. This whole experience really showed me how important good communication and teamwork are, especially when working with someone else to reach a shared goal.

Reflection on my career research report in CLE 10

The careers I am most interested in are pediatrician, pharmacist, and dermatologist. I chose these paths because I have a strong interest in healthcare and want to help others, especially children. Through my research, I learned that these careers require many years of education and training, but they are also meaningful and rewarding. I am currently most interested in pursuing a science-related education program that can lead to medical or pharmacy school. I feel motivated to begin this journey and know I need to focus on maintaining strong grades, gaining relevant experience, and preparing for the steps ahead to reach my goals.

Others find my feedback useful because I’m honest and clear. I give helpful ideas that can make the work better. I also try to be kind so people feel good about improving.

Although I am challenged by staying focused sometimes, I can get through these challenges by tapping into my motivation and setting small goals. I also ask for help when I need it and try to stay positive.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I take a short break, listen to music, or go for a walk. These things help me clear my mind and come back feeling more refreshed.

Domain & Range – Math 10

Graph

Questions

  1. Domain: 0 ≤ x
  2. Range: 0 ≤ y
  3. The domain of a graph is all the possible values of a graph on the x-axis
  4. The range of a graph is all the possible values of a graph on the y-axis
  5. Yes, this graph is a one to one function. All the given x values only have one y value. The vertical line test and the horizontal line test also show that it is a one to one function, because the lines do not touch two different points in the graph.

Self Assessment

  1. Give an example from this assignment where you represented the same mathematical idea in multiple ways.
The first way this idea was expressed was in the algebraic form of an equation, as y=√ x. Another way this idea was expressed was as a graph, shown in the photo given above.
  2. Give an example from this assignment where you used mathematical vocabulary to demonstrate your understanding.
I had used the vocabulary domain, range, function and one to one function to demonstrate my understanding. I had shown my understanding of the meaning of the words domain and range, and used them to explain my given equation and graph. I had also used the vocabulary “function” and “one to one function” to explain the meaning of a function, and if the graph fits the criteria to be a function. I had shown I understand what a function is, and how to tell the difference between a graph that is a function, and a graph that isn’t.
  3. Give an example from this assignment where you used formatting to share the information in a clear and organized way.
I had used formatting that organizes each section required in this edublog, making them easy to find and read. Each category has been put into bold lettering and underlined, with all needed information under with thin lettering. This makes it easy to navigate through the post, and find the needed information.

How is hereditary information passed from one generation to the next?

Curricular competency reflection

The baby’s skin and eye color are controlled by more than two genes. These genes affect how proteins are made, which determines the baby’s traits and phenotypes. I didn’t want my baby to have bushy, connected eyebrows or a medium nose. Bushy eyebrows are harder to shape and maintain. They might also make the child feel insecure as they grow older. I think these beauty standards come from society’s idea of what is “attractive.” People are often expected to look a certain way to be considered beautiful. If they don’t meet these standards, they may be seen as “unattractive.”

Core Competency Reflection

One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to make sure that I’m clear with my ideas, and that the project instructions are understood by everyone. If anyone has questions, I do my best to explain the question clearly and help guide them through it.

Others find my feedback helpful because I give constructive criticism, and give advice to make someone’s work the best it can be. Whenever I give my feedback, I make sure to do it in a polite but helping way.

I show that I value feedbacks from others in my group by thanking them for their feedback, and incorporating what they told me into my work. I use their feedback for improvements to my work, which shows that I appreciate feedback given to me.

Core Competency Assessment – Textiles

Creative thinking

My artifact: Needle felting minion keychain

I demonstrated creative thinking skills in this project by thinking of how to make the minion myself with no tutorial or reference. I had no needle felting experience before this project, and I had to learn this skill from scratch. I used my creative thinking skills by figuring out how to attach the different pieces of the minion onto the base/body of it.

Math 9 Foundations Self Assessment

I feel I growed in the area of polynomials. Near the beginning of the semester, I didn’t know what a polynomial was. As the semester progressed and we continued learning different things, I believe I showed the most growth with polynomials. I can deal with most equations involving them comfortably, and I have a clear understanding of them.

Some goals I set were to pay attention during class, ask questions and try understanding information thoroughly. I believe I meet most of these goals, but I could do better for next year. My goal for next year would be to do my best to stay on top of homework and assignments.

I have learnt and improved on many things in this course. The things I am most proud of are polynomials, exponents, and graphing.

Textiles core competency self assessment

Artifact

Something that I’m proud of doing in textiles class is this tube top that I made for my friend. I am proud of the overall results of the tube top, and how I communicated to make sure that the top was fit to my friend’s liking.

CommunicationCC

I had shown my communication skills with this project by communicating my thoughts about the top with my friend, and made sure it was fit to my friend’s liking and it was both comfortable for her to wear, and a design that she would like to wear. We had both communicated our ideas and I had used the things she had communicated to me and applied them to the top.

Country project presentation reflection

Something that went well was the designing portion of the project. I had enjoyed exploring the different design options I could choose, and was very pleased with how our final project turned out. I liked the minimalistic yet visibly pleasing design that my partner and I had chosen.

Something I think could have been better in our presentation was the amount of information we had put in. Throughout our presentation, I thought that there was a lack of information we had put into our slides. I believe if I had put in more information into the project, the project would have been better.

Something I would have done differently was how I presented. Presenting Infront of large groups is something I struggle with, which is why I think my presentation could have gone much more smoothly. Next time I have to present Infront of a class, I’ll try to gain more confidence beforehand, so I can have better presentation skills at the time of.

I had demonstrated social awareness and responsibility through creating a part of the slideshow highlighting the current major issue of unemployment in Spain. This shows how I am socially aware of issues happening in different countries, and how they can be affecting those who are struggling with those issues.
