My Grade 9 Year
This year I enjoyed learning about new topics that had not been taught in middle school. In grade nine, I had picked some courses that had not been taught in middle school such as Spanish 9 and textiles 9. I enjoyed taking these courses, as I had gained new information on these topics that I did not know before. I had particularly enjoyed textiles 9, as it is a brand new course to me. In textiles I had learnt how to make your own clothing, the process of making clothing and how different techniques, fabrics and other aspects can affect your clothing and the planet. I had been taught a variety of things in textiles, ranging from the basics as in threading your sewing machine, to more complex things such as the negative side of the cotton farming industry. I had enjoyed textiles not just because it was an interesting course, but also because it taught me skills that I could need in the future.
A Useful Educational Website
I had chosen perplexity since it has helped me throughout many different assignments. Whenever I was stuck on a specific question or part of an assignment, I would ask perplexity to help me answer my question and move forward in my work. Perplexity would give me multiple answers to a question with sources included, and I would use perplexity’s answers to build onto my own work.
A Useful Educational Video
I have chosen this video because it had helped me understand a topic in math that I had been struggling with. I had been struggling with simplifying and understanding polynomials, and this video had explained to me what a polynomial is, what like terms are and how to combine them.
A Useful Educational Image

I have chosen this image as it is my first ADL project of the year, and I was very satisfied with how it turned out. I had enjoyed researching about digital footprints and online safety, as it is a topic I have been interested in and something that is important to everyone. The process of gathering information and summarizing it into short, easy to read sections was something I had enjoyed doing. I was proud that I had created a poster that could let everyone know the dangers of social media and digital footprints in short paragraphs.
An Inspiring Quote
“It starts with trusting yourself, even if people are telling you you’re too young to trust yourself.” -SZA
I chose this quote because it tells you to always trust yourself. This quote is inspiring because it tells us to believe in ourselves, even if others think we’re too young or inexperienced. It’s about having confidence in our own judgment and abilities, and not letting others’ doubts stop us from pursuing our goals.
