I feel that some of my strengths are formatting my writing in an organized way. I added quotes from the stories and organized them in a neat way to help support my ideas. I feel like some things I need to improve on are my spelling. I will do this by practicing my writing on a day to day basis. I think by doing this over a long period of time I will start to see some improvement.

Core Competency Self Reflection

I feel that writing is fun but sometimes a bit challenging for me. I feel that writing can be difficult at times because I can not always connect to the topic I am asked to write about. I feel that structuring my paragraph is difficult for me as I tend to let all my ideas go all over the place. I would say my favorite part of writing is when I get to write about fictional stories. I enjoy writing about this as I also enjoy reading story tales.

Life Saving Measures

Knowing how to do and use CPR and AED is very helpful in life in case of a emergency. Knowing that if you try helping someone and something happens you won’t get in trouble or arrested because of the Good Samaritan Act. Knowing there are places that you can go to get help if you have a addiction, that don’t judge you and understand you that can provide resources to help you get better. This made a big impact on me because I feel better able to help out my family or friends if they are not breathing.

Critical and Reflective Thinking Competency Reflection

I can analyze evidence to make judgements in this lesson. I was able to look at the victim and see the evidence that he was not breathing, and I made the correct judgement to provide CPR. In general, I think that I am a practical person who likes to look at the facts of something and then try to act accordingly.

Core Competency Reflection

Acids and Bases Lab l mixed chemicals together in the plate.

Communication

I chose this artifact to talk about because I worked on the core competency of communication in these labs. We had to work with a partner to do the lab and this means we have to communicate and collaborate in order to do the lab. I was able to listen to my partner in what he was thinking and I was able to also say my own ideas about what was happening. We made a good team because we are both hard workers and we both understood each other well. In this lab I learned what chemicals mixed together make what colors. I also learned how to be safe in a lab setting and how to dispose of chemicals properly. I would like to improve in the subject of Biology as I am not as strong in this area as the other areas.

My passions are playing basketball, watching anime shows or movies, animals, collecting rocks, and playing video games! My plans for the future are buying a house, buying a car (specifically F150 truck), owning my own pets, and travelling around the world. My skills are swimming, playing the piano, math, writing, and playing basketball. Lastly, I value nature, animals, friends, family, playing basketball and food! That is all about my ME card.

Persevering

I have persevered in Science this year, especially in the unit on Biology. I didn’t think that I would be able to make it through successfully because it seemed very difficult at first. While I still don’t completely understand it, that didn’t stop me from trying really hard to make it through. I am still surprised that I am making it through, but I think it’s because I still work hard, I go to class, I try to do my homework and all of that helped.

I have worked really hard this year to improve my grades and my skills in all my classes. While I have trouble identifying my strengths, I find it hard to make statement like that, I definitely know that I have faced my challenges and I am working harder to get better grades. I have been more successful this year, but I know I still need to always work hard.

Don’t post random stuff about yourself on line like where you go and what you do. Don’t talk to someone who you think might have a fake account. Don’t answer emails from people you don’t know. Don’t fall for easy scams like “you won the lottery” especially if you haven’t played it. Don’t answer calls from numbers you don’t know and don’t fall for “hacked into your account” calls that claim they extracted hundreds of dollars and then they ask you for your personal information. Make your passwords complicated so they are not easy to guess. Make your password private so that it is not your cat’s name or your birthday especially if that information is out there.

Personal and Social Competency Reflection

Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include not posting pictures of myself but rather my animals. Deleting pictures of myself from even my mom’s account if I don’t like them. I also refuse tags when I don’t like the picture I am being tagged in.

My strengths as a digital citizen include knowing how to have a good footprint. They contribute to my community through sharing that information with my friends. In sharing this post I help others not fall for scams.

Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are by using Instagram to communicate with my friends who live far away. If people give me random calls and I don’t think it is one of my friends I don’t answer it and then I delete the call.

Character, Setting and Mood

As a group we talked about the story, it didn’t say exactly what Hermia looked like but based on the story we could guess. We figured that the character needed to look young because she was at an age where she wanted to run away to marry Lysander. The story describes the characters being in Greece so pictures of ancient Greece were found. Shakespeare wrote this story 600 years ago so we knew it wasn’t set in the present. We chose the music to be very chill because something like “pop” would not work for this story.

Core Competency Reflection

I ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener. When my group talked about the topic I listen and if they have questions and I can help I do.

I take on roles and responsibilities in a group; I do my share. When making this project I had to design the Avatar for Hermia. I had to write about her. I said the title when we did the voice over. I support others when they need help too.

I encourage others to share their voices and value diverse perspectives. When we are in a group and I see someone just sitting off and not participating I ask them their opinions and get them to explain their ideas. If they need any help with something they are stuck on, I give them a hand.

I deliberately learn about things that interest me, and new ideas pop into my head. When we are reading a book, I try to think ahead. After reading a chapter I like to think about what might happen next. I like it when I am allowed to pick the book I’m going to read. I love murder mysteries.

Script

Following Script Heading

I thought if they were in a forest, it’d be very aged, so I decided that the setting should be in a modern café. I changed how they spoke because it was confusing and their fight in the café wouldn’t of made as much sense. For example, Demetrius said ” I had rather give his carcasses’ to my hounds”, which sounds good but not in modern day. That’s why I changed it to “You think I fed him to my dogs,” having both the same meaning and tone. I also added the scene where Hermia threw coffee at Demetrius’ face to display her anger and his lack of action. It’s also pretty funny.

I chose this topic because the script format allowed me to organize my thoughts and show the information my way.

I can think about what I am going to convey and to whom I will convey it.

I chose this topic because I find writing difficult and this assignment allowed me to improve on that flaw.

I chose this topic because reading this story showed that others have struggles just like me. Hermia fighting with her dad reminded me of fights I’ve had with my parents over small things and I could really connect with what she was feeling. I am better able to portray her character because I understand how she felt.
